so now the show has 3 leads that can't sing.

It won’t be that. Students at a school like Arts Ed sing much more daily than Jac is required to at the moment. As a graduate, he will be in the best condition ever to play a role like this - he won’t have developed any bad habits. Likely to be more to do with his vocal health - how much is he going out drinking etc.

After last week's lottery outcome and given reports above re ticket sales (great for the show and venue indeed), I'm not waiting around again but have already entered for next week.

I went to stage door last week, Jason came out first signed a few programmes then went back in to get his bike, Jac came out a few minutes later and signed and took photos and during this time the security guys came back out with some signed headshots of Sheridan and said she wouldnt be out

It's a strange stage door. There is very little room and the powers that be certainly won't want people blocking the pavement and the busy road outside.

As it is a limited run I think Jason and Sheridan will be discouraged to stage door as much as possible so they don't pick up any bugs and miss shows. This certainly was case at the Funny Girl Tour.
It's a case of protect their huge investment/s or disappoint a few people after the show. Sad but I can completely understand it.

Everyone now wants so much.
You have professional autograph sellers everywhere with piles of glossy photos.
People want, no expect, an autograph, a photo, a chat and an experience they can brag about on social media afterwards.
They want performers to ring friends who aren't there. To pose for "Boomerangs" to sign birthday cards for people they have never even met.
Many believe they are more entitled than others and push and shove and bully others.

It won’t be that. Students at a school like Arts Ed sing much more daily than Jac is required to at the moment. As a graduate, he will be in the best condition ever to play a role like this - he won’t have developed any bad habits. Likely to be more to do with his vocal health - how much is he going out drinking etc. Sorry I think you are quite wrong. |

Jac’s definitely back because he posted a (topless  ) photo from his dressing room. Got Row S stalls for £45 for the last week of the run, not bad considering the “original” price for those was £85!! |

I’ve heard on the grapevine he’s may have lost his voice, but can’t verify it! brqqr] Maybe 8 shows a week is too much for his voice but will have to get used to it as that's the norm in the job. Although these days so many performers seem to only do 5 or 6 shows a week. Not like the old timers like Imelda Staunton and her generation. NONSENSE - in drama school you’re singing 12 hours a day! The lad is sick! |

I’ve booked the £25 boxes because i’m going with a friend who likes an aisle seat and there are basically none left at a price we’d pay. The warning when I booked was ‘severely restricted view, you’ll have to lean forwards.’
I couldn’t see anything on the TM site (maybe I looked in the wrong place) but can you help me prepare for how bad the view will be for this performance?

I sat in the Royal Box for Michael Ball's concert recently. There are speakers mounted on the "stage" side of the boxes which cut off completely the rear of the stage. Excellent value for a concert where the "action" takes place front and centre, but for a fully staged show (and one I haven't seen) I don't know what you'd miss. |

Has anyone ever stood at the back of the stalls for this production? If so, what is the view like? Does anything happen at the top of the stage that I will miss? Or will I be better off getting a seat in one of the boxes?

So I saw this on Thursday night after winning the lottery. I have been very vocal about my love for the original 1991 production and was very disappointed in the casting of Sheridan Smith as the Narrator. Firstly, her singing was better than i expected, but then I went in with very low expectations. But still, there were no sustained notes, no belting and no excitement in her voice. None of it soared in the way the role has done in the past. And then there is the shtick that she does throughout the show. Ugh. Not my thing at all. Using the Narrator to play the additional characters added nothing and took away any kind of heart the show had, especially when playing Jacob. Her use of accents were all over the place. Why was she sounding American at one point??
I have to agree with other posters who have said it was done on the cheap. Most of it is performed on a basically empty stage. Jacobs chariot of gold was just sad.
The use of kids as the brothers didn't bother me like i thought it would and I actually really liked the kid who played Potipher. It's an odd production when that's a highlight. Actually one of the shows highlights was Those Canaan Days. it was one of the very few times that the singing was fantastic and harmonies were great. The can can, not so much.
The end of act 1 confused me. He's in Jail, they start singing Go Go Go Joseph and suddenly he has his supposed ripped up coat back and dancing with the ensemble in galaxy print clothes. What's going on??
Sheridan getting the audience to do the 3 claps in So Back In Canaan was pure panto.
Jac Yarrow was back on as Joseph and while he did do a good Close Every Door, he didn't really do anything special to make me think he was a star in the making. Jason Donovan got huge cheers the minute he came on and then mumbled his way through his 15 minutes on stage. He's laughing all the way to the bank.
I'm very glad I only paid £30 for this as I would have been gutted to have spent more. But the audience lapped it up, so what do I know. I wish that everyone could have seen what Joseph has the potential to be, in the 1991 production, but this was Joseph as a panto and didn't do much for me.

I would've thought because its a limited run, they'd want to stage door as much as possible to make the most of their time there. Not everyone gets to play the Palladium after all. I remember Kelli O'Hara stage dooring most nights during her time there last year along with Ken Watanabe for King and I |
