One can only hope. The 1991 orchestrations were dire.
I think the 1991 orchestrations are great. They give so much colour, variety and fun to the piece. Some of it might sound dated now, but I hope they don't change much of it. Agreed, the original Palladium orchestrations are brilliant.

I know I'm set in my ways regarding the 1991 production but that 2014 prologue was awful. it's bad enough putting Any Dream Will Do at the start of the show, let alone bringing Joseph into the prologue too! It makes no sense. It feels like an American Idol sing off. I'm surprised 'The Lord' allowed them to mess with the tune so much. I remember him complaining (something along the lines of "That's not what I wrote!") when one of the Any Dream Will Do auditionees added a bit extra to one of the songs!

Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear. If it's like this, I know already that I'll hate the production. "Pop-ing" a show is a big no no. This weird blend just reminds me of "Six". Get Dave Malloy in to orchestrate something interesting. Worried now.

My thoughts exactly ^^^. Also a clear lack of children’s choir- whilst kids choir isn’t a dealbreaker for me, I just can’t picture this show without one..

I notice the logo has the same gold as the new Palladium version - was this tour by the same team? That video sounded absolutely awful Can’t see Sheridan dicking around with it like this. Hideous.

Anybody know whos directing this designing this lighting this? Brand new production? Nothing on the LWwebsite. The revival production is directed by Laurence Connor (School of Rock, Miss Saigon), with choreography from JoAnn M Hunter, design from Morgan Large, lighting from Ben Cracknell and sound from Gareth Owen. Casting is by Stuart Burt with children's casting by Joanne Hawes. From the WhatsOnStage casting announcement. That’s really a top tier creative team isn’t it 🤣🤣🤣

Does anyone know if LW Theatres would let you exchange seats to somewhere else in the auditorium but for the same performance if you call up? I’ve noticed there’s some seats in the circle now down to the same price that we’ve paid for back stalls and they look a better deal.

I also love the 90s orchestrations but I am sure there are gonna be new ones for this. In a podcast I heard Nigel Wright saying that they were incredibly dated now (I mean they are very 90s though I say that remains fabulous) and they would need to be worked on again when Joseph came back to the West End.
What I would LOVE (and we inevitably won't get) is a new cast recording. Still fuming they never recorded the Palladium Cats - the 'newest' full English Cats recording is the Aussie one from 1985 - ridiculous.
Re the cast - there must be more to come as there aren't enough for 11 brothers. Anyway, good to see Richard Carson who I loved as Chris in Miss Saigon and Micheal Pickering who was an incredible Rusty in Starlight Bochum. They're also both hot. So that's nice.

Quick link for Joseph completists - the 1993 LA cast recording with Michael Damian is one I hadn't noticed till recently. The whole thing's on Spotify.
If anyone has internet links or knows where to find a 1986 UK tour recording, it would be much appreciated.

Looks like a very colourful production! The Pros does look like the Snow White one so whoever said that it right!

Please no. Please please please no. Mark my words!! Why don’t you think they haven’t even announced some characters! It’s not just company or producers being slow! And Sheridan isn’t your typical narrator... that should’ve sent alarm bells. Think comedy element

No trace of anything on Jac's story- must've been asked to remove.
I'm yet to book this; while it was the first musical I got on CD after the tv show finished- I don't really love it. I'll see how to word of mouth is and if TodayTix end up offering a rush or anything!

Think comedy element I remember her saying that O'Connor wanted to change some things to suit her comedic style, but I thought they just meant how the narrator is portrayed, not this. This is all wrong and screams (once again *cough* Kenwright *cough*) that the director/producers simply don't appreciate that Joseph is an intelligently written, layered piece and not just a cheap comedy kids show. Given the respect it deserves, it can be funny, touching, and heartbreaking. It looks like O'Connor is going to suck the heart and soul out of it. Ok, so I'm being dramatic and we barely know anything about this production yet but STILL it frustrates me that this is seen as some light-hearted show when it's really one of Lloyd Webber's masterpieces.
