Saw the show on Tuesday and really enjoyed it. Definitely agree with everyone regarding the first few rows; I saw sat in D and even then felt I could have been a row back yet but would not sit any further forward as the stage is very high. The small theatre worked well for this intimate, gritty musical though. Victoria is the stand-out, really loved her acting and vocals.

Glad to hear that row D is somewhat decent. I couldn't choose a row when I booked through lovetheatre, but I hoped D would be far enough back to have a decent view.

You miss feet and a little bit of the action of the floor, but the vast majority of the show is in full view from this row. Hope you enjoy it. When do you go?

Saw this today with about 15 other people (circle) and 25 others (stalls).
It's alright if you want to hear some great singers sing some average rock songs.

I'm going mid November (Friday 18th) - I had all my tickets for this trip booked already, but realized I could squish the Friday matinee of this into my schedule (then scoot over to Charing Cross for Ragtime). Mostly to see Ramin Karimloo but I also do like rock scores and I figured if I wander around the West End killing time before the evening show I'd end up spending the same money in the shops, so I might as well sit down and see this. I could have gone for a dayseat I guess or the TKTS Booth, but my hotel is outside the West End and I have plans for the daytime, so I didn't really fancy going into the West End first in the morning, then head out again (and back in the afternoon). Sad to hear it's selling so badly (re: Oleanna) but with these prices I am not surprised at all.

Can anyone who has seen Murder Ballad more than once clarify this for me. A couple of people have mentioned to me that they switch up who is the murderer and victim in the show, a bit like The Mousetrap. Is this true?

Thanks, Steffi! I assumed that would have been the case but when it was mentioned I actually thought the different outcomes would have been quite interesting as each character has their own justification for committing the murder so it could have worked that way too, I guess.

Totally agree. The first time I saw it we had an interesting discussion with Norman (Bowman) afterwards about possible different endings. We came up with quite a few variations and each seemed completely plausible.

How often is it different? I just assumed it was a known thing. I don't know how often they change it around but I'm sure I read an article saying they change the outcome to keep it secret. I'll try and find it and post it here if I do. Perhaps I'm wrong or they used to do it but no longer do so.

I would put the following in spoiler tags but for whatever reason I seem to be unable to. So for anyone who hasn't seen the show: Don't read on unless you don't mind knowing what does not happen!
Michael kills Tom ( a) out of jealousy or b) because he thinks Tom is stalking is Sarah)
Sarah kills Tom (after he goes all "creepy stalker" on her in the park she wants him gone to protect herself and her family) Tom kills Michael (because he wants Sarah all to himself)
Michael kills Sarah (the nice and gentle guy overreacts when he finds out about Sarah and Tom) Tom kills Sarah (if he can't have her no one else can)
All three of them kill the Narrator (to get out of "the story") - that one seemed bizarre at first but ended up being the one we discussed the longest. It would give the whole story a bit of a supernatural touch and sounded interesting.

I've seen the show but can't remember who died. I'd lost all interest in the characters by that point.

All those scenarios are very plausible and would give a good twist at the end but must admit I do find the last scenario the most intriguing. Steffi, I think you should go to the producers with this brilliant scenario of yours as the more I think about it, the more brilliant it sounds.
{Spoiler - click to view}I found the Narrator to be an almost sinister presence in the vast majority of the scenes with her smirk and the look of enjoyment as things played out in front of her. She gave the show that dark, edgy feel as she observed from the corners. Like her presence is a word of caution as she is only ever acknowledged by Tom. So, the whole "kill to get out of the story" scenario could really work as she could be seen as playing with all of their minds; manipulating the story and their actions. If that makes sense.

Haha, maybe I should. Norman liked the idea too and thought it would give the narrative a great twist.
Interesting side note: Apparently Ramin first approached the show wanting to play Michael. I must say I would like to see the two guys swap roles. Norman has never really played a "bad guy". And for me Ramin is almost too type casted as the "dark, irresistable bad guy" (going from his looks at least).

Hi does anyone know if the London production will be releasing a cast album? No plans as yet from what I have been told (the performers would love to but obviously it's not down to them).

Going to the 5pm show tonight to see Natalie McQueen. I really enjoyed it when I attended the Opening Night (thanks again for that experience Theatre Board!) but am intrigued to see how xhe differs to Kerry's portrayal. Also, I found the whole cast to be phenomenally talented the virst time round too and my crush on Ramin is ever growing. I don't usually buy posters at the theatre but I may buy his character one today. Also, it will be interesting to see it from a more central, further back view. First time round I was sat at the end of Row B which was a good view but the stage is high so you couldn't see below the knee of any of the cast or most of the props etc. So sitting in E11 this evening, central stalls so will be nice to get a more fuller view of the whole production.
