Glad to hear someone has benefited, alece10 . I'm still looking for a matinee but either £10 or stalls at £30 which I can then book for £25 (concession), but no luck so far, and today the website is undergoing reconstruction so unavailable for the duration. If you're able to book the "Klaxon" tickets that might be worth a look. Yesterday they didn't go very quickly and there were tickets available at all price bands including £10 in the circle and £30 in the stalls. Although I think the £30 stalls seats were at the extreme edge and marked as restricted. They go on sale at 12:00 on Mondays for performances two weeks ahead.

Clearly it's getting ropey reviews from audience's. One person I've forgotten is in the show but I love is Danielle Steers. How is she in the show?

How about we add Two Out of Three in there, spruce it up a little bit.

To be fair, she is the key player in the first (brilliant) scene change, but after that doesn't really get much time in the limelight.

Oh I see, yes that's the one. Dreadful tattoos. I don't think she gets to do much. Although she might get the chance to pick up a few rogue ball pool balls.
Nice to see Liza Minnelli's old wig getting an outing in London's glitzy West End again though.

God, she really is wasted in this show then. FFS. To be honest, I didn't recognise her or even remember that she was in it. She's very much in the ensemble for this show. You takes the work where you can in London's glitzy West End.

How about we add Two Out of Three in there, spruce it up a little bit. Given the song is from the 70s and also written by Jim Steinman, probably very unlikely to happen.

Saw this last night and I actually really enjoyed it! Whilst I can see how it may not be for everyone I think the tone of this thread (before most people even saw the show lbr) has meant people have ended up going into this with unnecessary negativity.
I think Anne-Marie Duff is a really top actress and her vulnerable portrayal of Charity was spot on for me. Sure she’s not the greatest singer (and that usually bothers me in musicals) but I still think she can sing, and it didn’t actually take away that much from my overall enjoyment. You can get away with it I think with Charity because of the character she is. The production itself is a bit mad, and like others have said, it’s like they chucked literally everything into it, but it’s overall vibrancy I found really winning.
I wouldn’t say I LOVED LOVED LOVED it but I’d give it a solid 3.5 / 5 👍

Well thanks to all the talk on here my interest has been piqued, or perhaps more accurately gone from 'No, thank you' to 'Oh alright then' and special thanks to the pointing out above of ticket availability. I have snagged one. I used to be fascinated with Warhol and The Factory so if nothing else it will be interesting

I had no idea Adrian Lester was involved for two weeks. He appears at the beginning of the second half - for Rhythm of Life - and the whole theatre seems to lift off the ground. It was all we could do to not leap to our feet at the end of the song. If you could could get that on the NHS ..
I also like AMD (last seen as, imo, a very decent Lady MacBeth in an unforgiving Lyttleton) but this is a big show to carry with some big tunes. My initial sense is that injection from Adrian Lester lifted and sustained the second half. Cracking band, lovely cast.

I have snagged one. I used to be fascinated with Warhol and The Factory so if nothing else it will be interesting Worth a look /listen. Ensemble sounds great. Charity Duff acts it very well, and sounds quite nice in xome of her range. I fear she's doing some damage on the bits that don't sit so easily in her range as she was rasping when i went. Its a trade off between realistic for the character and excellent singing - from the same school hat t gave us one Fantine singing IDAD as if she's almost dead, and totally unlikeable and totally repressed Eponines. Its clearly inetentional given that Ms Connolly or Karup are there and could sing it brilliantly.
The termperature was fine in the stalls for the matinee i went to - may depend on what they do before hand to air it? The silver foil doesn't impede from the flanks of the stalls The choreography is determined by having audience on 3 sides. Frankly it may depend on who you get to watch - sitting on the right they were the ones to watch.
Musical act one is still too long, and act two is under developed in the book And in this one Rythm of life isn't really developed enough visually and looks even odder. But its the best vocal there ,and got the loudest applause.

It's funny innit but I thought 'Rhythm of Life' was pretty underwhelming when I saw it. Adrian Lester isn't that much of a singer, he doesn't really have much charisma and he looked awkward with the choreography. I can well imagine the number will be an absolute showstopper when Beverley Knight or Le Gateau Chocolat get their hands on it though. With Lester at the helm, I thought it just slowed the whole show down and I wouldn't have missed it if it wasn't there.

I've seen it twice with Adrian Lester performing and, although I do like him myself, I felt as though the rest of the audience were just there to see HIM from the reaction to Rhythm of Life! I'm going again next week, and I think it'll be Le Gateau Chocolat by then. I'll be interested to see if he gets the same reception!

As always, you are of course correct, @ryan, but do the great unwashed really go to the Donmar?
Surely they're all down in Victoria! 😉

When Sweet Charity was at the Menier it always got the biggest applause. It is a real crowd pleasing number.
