I wonder if this will be similar to the Sutton Foster production? That played a tiny venue Off-Broadway.

I quite like the Menier production but I’ll be curious to see how the Donmar tackle it and Josie Rourke did a stellar job with City of Angels a few years back

Was looking forward to the next Donmar musical but will probably give it a miss having seen the show at the Watermill and Notts Playhouse this year and the Menier version at the Haymarket

Charity is such a weird show isn’t it? Somehow I like it but the numbers are so much better than the story.

One of my favourite musicals of all time. Loved the film with Shirley Maclane and the Menier production was brilliant on such a small stage.
Many years I also saw a production with Bonnie Langford.
So this is a must for me.

Is getting tickets still a nightmare for the Donmar ? I imagine it will sell more quickly than 'Sweat'. I went online to get a ticket for 'Sweat' maybe ninety minutes after public booking opened, and didn't have a great deal of choice. Fortunately for me, I've no interest in sitting through 'Sweet Charity' again - but if you want to see it, best bet is to be online and waiting the moment tickets go on sale. |
