I've just noticed some odd seats in the front couple of rows for £19.50. I've booked an extra visit the day I see Fame! That was where I sat, ie the cheaper rows at the front; same price for the rear few but having tried the rear stalls once, never again: too distant for me. I was actually in row C, which I preferred to A and B as C is very slightly above stage level, whereas the other 2 are lower, but you'd have a great view from any of those 3 rows. Is there anymore legroom in the front row than there is in the rest of the hellish squashed nightmare of a place?

I'm only 5' 8" so very average, but my perception at this venue has always been that there was more room towards the ends of the rows, where they curve, which is where I was this time. It might not actually be the case but I certainly feel less cramped there - and, of course, you are that much nearer the aisle for a swifter exit.

I'm about the same height and I felt I had plenty of leg room yesterday and I was the second seat in from the aisle in row K so maybe you're right (though I was more central for Falsettos and about as far back and don't remember having an issue then either).

My original visit is booked for the same seat I sat in for falsettos so I know what to expect more or less. My extra one is further to the side but as these are visits 5 & 6 overall I know what I’m missing if I miss bits!

I was on the aisle last time and still had to hang my legs out onto the stairs and was still extremely uncomfortable.
I'm only 5'10 so not that tall.

I wouldn't say that the front side seats are very good, specially if you're seeing the show for the first time. I sat on the side of row C on Saturday matinee and the cast was blocking my view for many scenes. I'm glad I managed to move more central and further back in the interval.

It may depend on which side you sit and how far along the row you are. I was in the higher-numbered end and one in from the aisle which was perfect. Next to me (on the aisle) I had a very fidgety young chap so perhaps he did find his view slightly obstructed. Luckily for me he either left or moved seats at the interval as his every movement caused my own seat to reverberate most uncomfortably and I was almost asphyxiated by his obnoxious after-shave. I could also have moved but my view was fine.

Visit 5 across the run (on tour) and the most I’ve paid so far at £19.50 but I think still a good deal even if obstructed sometimes (hopefully not all the time)

Oh, oh I'm sitting in A16, bang in the center.
Will I be looking at backs the entire time?
Rookie error, I guess.

Read the many comments here and I'm firmly in the camp of loving this production. The actor/musician style worked perfectly and thought it good they were there for most of the time, commenting on Amelie's world. Yes, it's bonkers at times but it was a glimpse into her mind, the recalling of accurate details about distances and time pointing to her being on the autistic spectrum. Beautiful arrangements and such talented musicians. It's probably a"marmite" show and maybe if you don't buy into it from the opening, very busy number then it's hard to accept the rest. Beautiful lighting design too. I'd go again if I could, just love something that dares to be different.

Finally catching this tonight! Was meant to see it when it was on tour in Leicester, but wasn't able to make the booking in the end, so really interested to see how this works on stage. I really enjoyed the cast recording when that first came out, but its been a long time since my last listen, and I know there is new material in the show now, so can't wait to see it! Managed to get a £30 ticket in the New Year deals.

I really enjoyed the cast recording when that first came out, but its been a long time since my last listen, and I know there is new material in the show now, so can't wait to see it! Managed to get a £30 ticket in the New Year deals. So I thought that this was thoroughly charming, and really captures the essence of the film really well! I think it fits nicely in the Other Palace, it was a full house, and from what I can see the rest of the run has sold really well! All the performances were spot on, and I really think that the actor/muso really fits the feel of the piece. From what I can gather this is tonally very different from the Broadway version, the main thing being that French accents are actually used! I think it'll be a shame if this isn't preserved in some way, so lets hope of the possibility of a cast recording, to preserve the changes to the music. Overall I really enjoyed it, glad I finally managed to catch it before it goes! 4* from me

I was there last night too and really enjoyed this. It's really quite gorgeous and I loved Audrey Brisson as Amelie. The whole cast were incredibly talented, lots playing more than one instrument as well as the singing etc. I think we had a cover on for Gina, but I wouldn't have known had I not seen the notice as we went in. I do hope they make a cast recording of this as I'd like to be able to listen to it again, some of the songs were beautiful.
It was a full house, and aside from the two incredibly annoying guys sitting in front of us, a very well behaved audience who seemed to really enjoy it. I'm very glad we got to go.

I think we had a cover on for Gina, but I wouldn't have known had I not seen the notice as we went in. I did see that, but never really clocked the fact that she wasn't the main one, due to how good they all were! Credit to them for working so seamlessly together!

I’m just digesting my final visit to Amelie (Wimbledon, Southampton x3 and Other Palace x2) I loved it again of course. We had the cover for Gina and as has been commented on you wouldn’t know (more spectacular as it is an actor musician show with no swings).
I come away wondering why it has done so well in London compared to the tour. The last 2 weeks are already sold out but on tour there was talk of near empty theatres. I witnessed this in Wimbledon but in Southampton the theatre was a better size (though still not sold out).
Is it just a case of theatre size or did it need the time to build up momentum? Or something else?
I’m still hoping for that official recording

Brilliant news. Listening to the Broadway cast album is no substitute for Audrey Brisson and the wonderful UK touring/Other Palace company.

Yesss! Even though I didn't fall in love with the show itself, I certainly fell in love with the music and was hoping I'd be able to hear it in this form again.

Oh this is great news. I was never that interested in the Broadway cast recording but fell in love with the music when I saw the show here. Looking forward to it!
