Nice to see it getting decent reviews, the cast thoroughly deserve it

Good for them, nice to see a new musical get great reviews... even if I am not a fan of its promotional work.

Will this be another Bend It Like Beckham with fantastic reviews which just doesn't find an audience or is it a mega-hit??!! Only time will tell. Hard to say. With Bend it we clearly saw that reviews mean little. If the general public pick up on the positive reviews it could find a decent audience.

The story is more well known (I think) and it has a more well-known composer behind it, so that'll go in its favour.

Think you could be right. In spite of what some think on here I'd like this to do well. I think British musical theatre needs a success right now and with the right marketing this could manage 2 years

It's a noxious show but if you want a quietly pro-Brexit vehicle with no people of colour or anyone "other" - and you've already seen Half A Sixpence - well, welcome to it.

Thank you for sharing those. Good to see that hard work from those involved has paid off.

I have never seen the movie and although I like Gary Barlow's music both for Take That and Finding Neverland (so sue me) I felt really luke-warm about this show so far. But I admit that the positive reviews have now convinced me that it's worth seeing, so they've definitely sold at least one ticket based on the reviews. I couldn't bring myself to see Bend it like Beckham and by now I regret this, simply because I would have liked to form my own opinion of the show after all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the film...
But I'm also intrigued. I don't mind a bit of Gary Barlow (I always hear his name in his accent) so I'm now intrigued to see this and form my own opinion too!

Funnily enough. On my Timehop today it was exactly one year ago that I saw Bend It Like Beckham. Tell them to release the DVD of that show

Why didn't she just tell them to put their phones away?!? Because she's a fictional character?

Social media is a big problem in theaters and I have told people to be quit or given the stank eye...it is better coming from an usher though and i agree with her that thyey sometimes don't do their jobs. Some theatrs don't even have ushers who sit inside the theater itself

Go, viserys. They are on the same "level of enjoyment" for sure. "Bend It" was less conventional and more intellectually challenging as its culture was interesting, but this is probably a bit stronger musically and deeper in characterisation. I hated Bend it Like Beckham, one of the worst things I've seen in years and the closest I've come to walking out at the interval in a long time! So this comment makes me doubt whether I should bother seeing this one even more...!

I will try to pay more attention in future. They are clearly going down the Book of Mormon route of short extensions.
