The ladies have brilliant chemistry! Honestly it's really good, they get on really well on and off stage. It works well too because they all do excellent characterisation and all make each character 'their own'. It is a really good example of pro-MT casting!!  Good to hear! I'm so pleased to see Joanna and Claire back on stage, and if it's going to work well then all the better Joanna and Claire honestly look like real life best friends on stage. Really nice to see. All the girls are great though. The only thing I'm surprised at is that Harriet Thorpe didn't transfer too? I thought she'd be great as Marie and I know she is in The Dresser at the moment but that closes before this opens and I would've thought she'd chosen say a year in a musical rather than 3 months in a play? Marion is great in the role but I am surprised Harriet didn't come over. Also in future years, I can see someone like Sharon D Clarke starring in this show, possibly as Cora? She'd smash the big, church numbers! |

For anybody interested, there is a good deal on the official website for people over 65, you get £20 off top price tickets. Great deal as I know someone who is going to take advantage of the offer. Also good group rates for over 6 people, which will be nice if different WIs around England use to visit the show. This does sound a great deal, though I'm slightly too young to qualify, alas. I do wonder why some theatres state 60+ for discount and others 65+, as neither is state pension age now - not that I'd want them to raise it to the new higher limits! Theatres can seem oddly defensive, too, when you ask them if they'd mind explaining their reasoning: I got a very dismissive and uncommunicative response from one when I pointed out pensioners can be younger than 60 and conversely, people can be in paid employment well beyond that - surely it would be more logical (and simple!) just to ask for proof of status? I always carry this but am rarely asked for it. |

Why didn't they stunt cast this to get the punters in, Mary Berry she is short on work at the moment, especially after her acrimonious divorce from Paul.

Why didn't they stunt cast this to get the punters in, Mary Berry she is short on work at the moment, especially after her acrimonious divorce from Paul. Mary is an old fashioned gal, she won't get her cherry buns out. (Unless it's for the BBC in which case she'll do pretty much anything). |

Are they going to release any promo songs that don't have GB singing on them I wonder? He does have an ability to put over a pop song there's no denying it, but when this material is sung by the cast I'm afraid it just comes over as trite and bland.

There is something shady about him being all over the promo, especially singing the songs. The general public are gonna think he is in the show and be bitterly dissapointed. Great for ticket sales sure, but shady as hell.

What I like about that song in particular is how upbeat and fun it is but also with a really nice message behind the actual song too! From all the songs we have been given previews too, I like how all of them actually have a meaning to them and the words all mean something and have a place in the story |

They will stake out the stage door all day to meet him too and go back again and again, as they did in Manchester, desperately trying to convince us all they really love the show. Nothing to do with him being involved. |

But apparently it's one that a lot of people are looking forward to. That said, I've still not recovered from the attrocity of Finding Neverland, so I think I'll wait until the reviews come out before I think about going.
The marquee does look nice though.
