Not a lot of draws in the cast (there's a joke in there) however this show knows its demographic and I think it's not the cast that most of the audience are booking for - it's all those Tim Firth fans booking for it.  |

I'm all for no booking fees or no premiums, but not if it pushes the rest of the house price's up as this seems to have done! I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't offer dayseats. Didn't they try that with The Full Monty with no premiums or booking fees only for it to fall flat on their flat. I think Sonia Friedman gets the balance right with premiums but also offering more lower price tickets at £15-20. |

Didn't the West End "Full Monty" open before "premium seats" happened? SF seems to start with fewer premiums, then they creep in and take over, as business builds. On some shows, they do start with more than a few. The W*S interview today with David Pugh was outstanding - he deserves a Knighthood for the reality check. Telling it clear and strong like it really is... and in a few years when he is proved right, he'll be one of the few without a stain on his hands... The Full Monty play which Daffyd Rogers and David Pugh produced two years ago which did well on tour but lasted a month in the West End |

I agree it's a great interview and I really hope that the producers will be rewarded... I bet all other producers are watching how this pans out and it may influence their own pricing decisions in the near future. |

I wasn't intending to see this, having seen enough nudity in Mrs Henderson Presents to last me a long time, but now both Joanna Riding & Sophie-Louise Dann are in the cast I guess I'll have to go & see it after all. Lend Me A Tenor mini-reunion!

There is something about this show which really intrigues me. I think it's the casting - finally a show composed of leading west end women that can perform on merit. I loved Joanna in Stephen Ward, she is the obvious draw. I expected Vivien wouldn't be in the show due to Half a Sixpence, so all is not lost, but I'm very pleased to see Michelle in the cast, I adored her in Nell Gwynn. I hope this does well in London, the cast deserve it too.

But I am just not. I feel the same. I think they've clearly squeezed every possible drop out of this story. Having this after the play, after the film is just milking it. It's a lovely, inspiring story, yes and if charity gets money from each incarnation I guess it's a good thing. The Gary Barlow factor will be something but I can't see it attracting many people. The film had stars in it, the play had famous enough actresses in it (to begin with anyway), this has Gary Barlow and that's it. It's so blah. |

It's not the sort of musical with a big belty number plus it would be very odd for a musical about the WI to have that sort of stunt casting. |

Has it? £69.50 top price is below the regular non-premium top price for some musicals (and at least one play I can think of) and on par with most of them. So I can't see how you think it's pushing the rest of the prices up here? In regards to Full Monty's austerity pricing, I don't think the lack of premiums was what felled it. Their previews were priced VERY low, the regular run was then at normal West End play pricing. I think that massive jump meant that EVERYONE piled into the previews and nobody bothered after it opened. The fact that it was one of the tattiest things I have ever had the misfortune to lay eyes on is neither here nor there. With The Girls, I really hope they have a quality product that sells like gangbusters and has a long healthy run, and that this starts to turn the tide on premium seats. Something has to. They are the scourge of theatregoing! |

There were actresses before Wicked, you know The problem is that the whole thing is so trite and dreary it's very hard to get excited about it. And apart from that, when I saw it there was nothing special about any of the performances either. The whole thing was just "meh". |

Honestly we could have had X Factor rejects, Z list 'celebs' and a couple of Loose Women. Anyway, saw this in Manchester. Is pleasant and I enjoyed myself. Doesn't set the world alight. However with this delightful cast I have booked for one of the previews. |

It's sad to think that the cast could put people off - especially when there is an enournous amount of talent in there. This is precisely what this show needs, and I genuinely feel the casting is ideal. |

And I predict that it won't. But Barlow will sell to one demographic, the story to another probably overlapping one. And the cast to another. So should do a year or two? But yes, clearly not the next big thing for British musicals. Listened to Finding Neverland today. Also pleasant. |

When you put it like that you realise what a cynical affair the whole thing is. Milking the story to the absolute max. I assume the WI raise money for charity out of this circus, I do hope do.
When I saw it I hated how they signposted all the "sad" bits so everyone knew that this is a hit where we're now all going to feel sorry about cancer etc.
I found it a bit crass.
