Looking forward to seeing it on tour, it was an excellent show when I saw 2012-13 tour, just hope they get the tour casting right.

Friday's show is Gala Night. Sounds exciting. Wait, I thought they had the official opening web Dolly etc already?! How is this different?

Not one person on this forum has seen Louise yet? I have. She knew her lines, sang reasonably ok ..... but was completely outclassed by Natalie McQueen and Amber Davies. Early days yet for her, I suppose - that's it really!

Does anyone know if this will be on tour at the Bristol Hippodrome?

They may well add the Hippodrome later in the tour (if there’s more venues coming?) but otherwise there’s always the lovely Millennium Centre down the road in Cardiff, remember you don’t even have to pay for the bridge anymore!

What is the general consensus about Amber in this role - the reviews have been a bit mixed but she seems to be acceptable. I'm asking from a viewpoint of her being a big social media star and thus could get a number of roles due to her recognition and selling power. I don't see her being in something like Les Mis any time soon but she seems as if she could carve out a nice career in lighter musical roles.

As someone who knew nothing of her from her reality tv days, I thought she was good, if not quite as powerful as SJB in the Broadway production (although, who would be!).

Finally saw this!
Have to say when it was announced I thought very little of it (filler, probs tour set dug out of storage, daft stunt casting and hen parties pi$$ed on cheap Prosecco as far as the eye could see). But then as time went on became clear was a quality production.
So pleased to say loved loved loved it! Fantastic feel good show. Great cathy songs performed brilliantly by an 8 piece band. Really cool simple but bright and very effective set. And thought the cast were brilliant. Amber was a revelation, fantastic voice. Natalie totally slayed it. And whilst Louise doesn't have the most powerful belt, she has a sweet voice and was very likeable in her role. Bonnie was of course sensational. Brian was Brian - he played for laughs a bit too much for my liking but guess that's how it's written.
Left feeling uplifted and singing the songs. And even though the story was slightly daft there is of course an important message in there too. For me, a similar experience to Kinky Boots or Made In Dagenham, both of which I also loved.
It would be amazing to have a CD of this cast and with the new song. Anyone heard anything?
Also do we know if this is closing or extending? The tour does start the week after the current booking period which makes me think is this same production hitting the road. But I'd love for it to extend. It must have sold much better than the producers initially thought it would.

When I went a couple of weeks ago, the House Full signs were out. So not doing badly at all.

So glad that I finally got round to seeing 9 to 5. It’s a thoroughly feel good show with great performances from all. Natalie, Amber and Louise really own the show, as they should, and Bonnie and Brian are both superb. No wonder the show is doing so well. I’ll be back again that’s for sure!

Will there be a cast change at the end of August or will everyone extend ? I wonder if Amber and Natalie will stay?

I am not sure that it counts as a hit to extend to just over a year.
It has done better than the source material deserves. I know there are people who love it but I saw no value at all in it when I reviewed it many years ago.
It is doing ok. Can't take that away from it. But it is not close to a hit.
If it gets to a 3rd birthday, maybe. But I can't see that happening.

I guess it's just a filler extension until something comes in next year. I can't imagine there won't be something more attractive to ATG than 9 to 5 wanting the theatre next year. I'd even imagine something is a done deal.
