I heard that Dolly is on a screen at the beginning the show so, technically, she is "there".

‘A cup of ambition’ is one of the cleverest pieces of merch I’ve seen for a while. They’ll sell a tonne.

If i remember correctly Dolly was at every single preview performance before Broadway. To boost ticket sells (it never set the box office on fire) the producers started to advertise come see Dolly watching her show. I bet she will be there during the last week of previews this show is her baby.

I've had a cheeky listen of a couple of the performances tonight, Natalie is in great voice and Amber sounds great too. She clearly had either fans or family in the audience who cheered mid song in the opening number, but it doesn't take away from the fact she sounds great. I'm surprised by her. Have seen images of the curtian call too. Love the black and pink looks for the three girls at the curtian call, and Bonnie looks in amazing shape! Now I'm excited to see it!

The prices for this are insane. £150 in the stalls?!! 🤣🤣🤣 Yet there are plenty of 40 and 50 pound seats plus rush and day seats for 25. I don’t see the problem having seats for 150 if Americans are used to paying those prices. They aren’t for drama school students or young professionals. If they sell and they do, there is a market for premium, just like the airline industry.

People don’t say this flight to New York is so expensive as there are seats that cost 6,000 pounds on here! The reality is most of the flight the seats are 350 return. Same difference. I’m all for choice and the producers/industry making money as long as we have cheap alternatives.

If it gets to the stage where ONLY those seats are available they are obviously doing it right and market perception deems it worthy of that price tag.

Front row seats available tonight via ATG at £30 a pop ! Must be day seats unsold right? I dont know if the stage is the same height for this as it was for Dreamgirls but I had front row for that and the stage was so high I could only see people from knee down and any action at the back of the stage I couldn't see at all.

I've seen the show yesterday, Amber is good, beautiful voice. Bonnie Langford and Brian Conley try in every way to make people laugh, and everyone seems to have a lot of fun, but not me, sorry.

Must be day seats unsold right? I'd have grabbed a BB seat for £30 but already had a show booked last night. Sat there for Dreamgirls and it was fine for (6 feet tall) me. The price is £55 at present for tonight. Will look again later in case they go down in price.

Hi!
I know we haven't heard for definite yet (as far as I know!), but does anyone know if it's likely Caroline Sheen will still be with the show on 23rd March?
Many thanks :-)

Yeah Dolly has written a new song for the production. It was announced a while ago and I figured it may have been cut, but then the official Instagram account for the show answered a fan question about changes from previous incarnations and confirmed the new song was still in.

I day seated for this this morning, I saw on Twitter that there was only one person in the queue on Tuesday so I turned up at 9.30am, there were two people in front of me, one more person turned up at 9.45am. Got front row tickets.

I saw this this evening. Wow the front row is close! I mean it's a great bargain for £25 but you are practically on the lap of the conductor! (don't get seat BB8 because you'll be directly behind him and his head might be in your way!).
I saw this in Broadway and on tour because I'm a big Dolly fan but it's been a while so I don't have a very detailed memory of the show. The set is relatively basic compared to Broadway but the back wall is a beautifully sharp screen that has some stunning projections. The show is basically daft fun but it's not pretending to be anything else. The women are all good in their roles. Amber Davies gives a gorgeous rendition of "Get Out and Stay Out". Brian Conley is funny and good in the role but I don't think he's great at singing (I'm tone deaf though so I could be wrong!). Bonnie Langford is just great, wow that woman is flexible! The whole thing felt quite a bit funnier that previous productions I've seen. They've changed some of the songs, but I think I preferred the original version. There's a new, fairly forgettable song called 'Hey Boss' which replaces Cowgirl's Revenge, Potion Notion and Joy to the Girls. And unless I fell asleep during part of it I'm sure they didn't sing 'Shine Like the Sun', but that seems so unlikely that I'm going to wait for someone else to confirm! Dolly is featured at the beginning, middle and end on a big TV screen and mini TVs around the edge of the stage, it's quite amusing to hear her making references to Loose Women and Bum-bags (instead of The View and Fanny packs in the Broadway version), but they don't overuse her.
I enjoyed it and I'll see it again at some point, I've never thought it's the greatest show ever but it does have some stand out songs for me - Backwards Barbie, Shine Like the Sun, Change It and Get Out and Stay Out. It's easy to day seat as well for now.
