What nobody has mentioned however is that, barring ‘Come From Away’, there is nothing interesting announced in the West End for a good six months so I suspect ‘Waitress’ may pick up trade from there being bugger all else of interest happening.

I disagree in a general public sense. As much as no one here is excited for it particularly it seems, 9 to 5 would likely be the "go to" for the general public in theory. That is more known and it has the Dolly Parton connection.

It may well be selling well, and fair play to it, but it is more ‘lowest common denominator misguided office trip with the gals’ rather than ‘I’m in town, what should I see?’.

There is, but 2019 is looking to be a year more for plays so far rather than musicals. Plenty of star vehicle plays to attract people.

Going by her Instagram posts, I’m assuming Sarah O’Connor is first cover Jenna

They are really over-egging these pies with these "surprises".

I mean, I get what people are saying here, it must be irritating, yet you don’t need to follow the show’s official pages.
On one hand it is recognised that the show isn’t selling as well as it could be, yet is criticised for trying to drum up interest/promotion through posts such as this one. I don’t have an issue with it personally...

I don’t have an issue with it personally... I don't follow the show's pages, but stuff like that is bound to be shared onto my Twitter timeline one way or another. I'm in the party that agrees that all these pre-promotes of announcements are grating. Totally get why they're doing it but yaaawn

I really don’t see what the problem is. They are trying to drum up interest in the show. It’s a post that you will read for a matter of seconds before you scroll right past it. We live in a world where Movie trailers have trailers to tease the full trailer. I’ve just had a flick through their twitter page and there’s only 4 of these pre surprise announcement posts. It’s not a big deal. It’s just marketing. And they certainly aren’t overdoing it.

I wouldn't mind this type of strategy if everything they announce was actually really big and exciting. But sometimes they have been guilty of bigging things up when it didn't really warrant it. I can see how that gets a bit annoying. But overall at least the social media side of things is active and engaging.

When they say pies, they are probably selling off Mrs Lovett's meat pies left over from Sweeney Todd!

I am thoroughly looking forward to my free pie and don't care who knows it! ☺ I discovered that Home I'm Darling is doing a package deal the involves pineapple upside down cake and I'm damn well giving serious consideration to doing that and Waitress in one day just for the cake based goodies.

And is very flattered to be remembered by you (I told her what a nice lad you are). She's living in Denville Hall now, the home for retired theatricals and gave her Madame Armfeldt just last week. Beat Doreen "Mrs Warboys" Mantle to the role too! Winning.

Do you think it’s maybe to announce the Lulus? The show starts in less than 2 weeks so they must have or be close to casting them already!
