It's a great musical. Very poweful and relevant for today. Relevant? It’s like a channel 4 commisioning editor has gathered his ‘hippest cats’ around a table and asked what issues are affecting the ‘kids’ these days. Some of it hits home, and some of it has dated already, but it works just fine as a period piece. 😂

The Union did an excellent production of this about 5 years ago. I too found it very powerful with a strong score.

It's extraordinarily melodramatic nonsense. If you like that sort of thing (I do) then you'll love it, but if you don't, you'll find it hard to get on with. It has some genuinely excellent songs though, like Role Of A Lifetime.

I'd reccomend looking into the company producing the show first.... i've seen many brilliant musicals at the fringe totally butchered by a bad high school.
