Was meant to be at Wicked Tuesday night. Sadly had to cancel as a family member has tested Positive for Covid, & I don’t want to risk it .... So I shall be checking in on here for the reviews of Lucie Checking on here for reviews?! Almost everyone already loves this performer as shown with all the posts in previous pages, they already love the show - and they are paying to go to her very first performance. A performance full of screaming, cheering fans of the show/the performer who are specifically there to see her. It will be unanimous raves from every single person who posts, saying she is their new favourite and one of the best to have ever done it. It will be how the show is in amazing shape, how the atmosphere was electric and how they are rebooking to see it again, because she is just going to get better and better. It will have surpassed even their high expectations. The first "unofficial audio" clips will be on YouTube/Tumblr etc within an hour of curtain down. I don't think so. I rather trust most TheatreBoard users to be fairly objective. If a performer doesn't fit a role or has improvements to be made that is usually clearly stated even when the poster likes the performer or was excited to see them in the role. If Lucie does get acclaim and positive feedback.....will that really be too hard to believe that it's because she was actually good? Not really showing you think much of your fellow board members here does it.

Not really showing you think much of your fellow board members here does it. I am going off the history of every single previous cast change for this show, ever. I don't doubt she will be good, which is why I said a few posts ago that this is the first time I've wanted to revisit for ages. I've seen absolute raves on here for incredibly average performances in this show, so yes, when it comes to Wicked I take what many users here have to say with a huge portion of salt.

Lucie is a very competent performer with a strong, versatile well trained voice. I am not expecting her to be showy, I’m expecting her to be akin to Kerry when she started as full time lead. Economical with the massive voice, more about the whole journey.

Then throw in a carnival atmosphere with hundreds of screaming die-hard fans on the night. The next day = raves on here. I'm not being "clever", I'm just saying what always happens.

Maybe don’t go that night. I’m giving her a few weeks to bed in.

The theatre is less than half full on Tuesday Yes, they are all waiting for it to turn up for 6p on Todaytix before committing to being Lucie’s number two fan. (I already know number one. He’s a good guy who has respect for her and it isn’t up for dispute.)

I was there. It was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There was none of the OTT screaming of the previous cast changes, no drama, just nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the show. Laura threw in a few fun riffs and had really refined her portrayal since reopening and was perfect. Some lovely speeches at the end from Simeon, Sophie and Laura about their journeys with the show and how they were the cast whose time initially got cut short by the virus. Laura and Sophie were clearly very emotional and both cried during For Good and at the end.
Overall a lovely afternoon and a great sendoff for this cast.

I’m sure that to some extent my Instagram is a bubble for this kind of thing but musical theatre land seems to be genuinely delighted for Lucie earning this opportunity after a while of trying. It’s lovely to see and I hope she has a great night tonight. Wish I could be there!

The seating plan looks a lot healthier now. The front half of the stalls is practically full, and the cheap seats in the back half of the Circle either never went on sale or are sold out. I hope she has an absolute blast. I suspect she will end up being the Elphaba we have all been waiting for.

I wasn't going to go and see Lucie until she'd settled in a bit but I happened to find myself in the online day queue last Wednesday! Off to see her tomorrow evening. Naturally, tonight was sold out by 10.02am last week.
Looking forward to it - I haven't sat in the dayseats in years and last time I saw the show it felt really stale so hoping a cast change will bring some of the energy back up!

There’s been a real buzz on Twitter all day, I think this is the most excitement there has been for a cast change in a very long time at Wicked.

Am sat in the KFC at Victoria grabbing a snack before the show (I know, I'm so classy...) and there's some superfans a few tables across loudly discussing cast changes and who took over when and generally 'sharing their knowledge' so everyone can hear. Sigh

Sigh Let them be, they’re clearly talking about something they love hence they’re probably being a bit loud if it’s interfering with your meal too much then there’s nothing stoping you in politely asking them to talk quieter happy days

On a special night like tonight I would take it and smile warmly, but every theatre visit these days normally has it’s corner (if you’re lucky) of noisy overexcited Wendies desperate for everyone else to know where they are going, how many times they’ve been already, which cast members they are on first name terms with and shrill, shrill, shrill. I’m afraid people living up to their stereotypes is my bete noir.

Luckily I’m here on a comp, or I’d be very pissed of! Dancing Through Life was shockingly bad from Fiyero! He seemed completely out of his depth. Lucy is really very competent but not blown away yet. Looking forward to seeing her in a few months once she’s really settled in!

Lucie is great. Big powerful voice, not a big riffer but reminds me of Kerry a bit. She had to stop before the final note in the wizard and i there was a lot of applause. Morrible and Glinda are great.
Glinda had a wardrobe issue in one short day and missed her entrance by about 1 minute but sang off stage.
Fiyero is weak

Really enjoyed that. Thankfully the audience in our section were well behaved though there was a lot of whooping in the stalls. Thought Lucie was very good. Not sure what happened at the start of One Short Day but she carried the first few minutes on her own with Glinda singing offstage. And I know it's been said before but they really need to update the flying in 'Gravity ' it looked awful from my seat, the arm was so obvious.

Helen knows what she’s doing, so not surprised that she’s alright I’m bringing it down to nerves, it must be a lot for the new cast
