Sorry I'm a bit late but which performance is the anniversary one? The West End production opened officially on the 27th September 2006, so the 10th anniversary show will be on the 27th September 2016 - unfortunately, it's a Tuesday.

Casting weekly said first performance for new contract is Monday 5 September so guessing Saturday 3 Sept as last show for current contracts - I'm loathe to say Cast Change lol! Anyone knows when the cast change will actually be?

Guess who's seeing Billy Joel in Frankfurt on the 3rd September. But then again, I wouldn't have attended this cast change anyway - just don't care about the current cast (which I still haven't seen). When they are finally announcing who's leaving and especially when (I still fear they might extend the current contracts just after the 10th anniversary show), I'll be booking a trip to London for the following weekend.

Cast change in London will be a brand new Elphie and Glinda, a pair who have proved their worth as leading ladies. We might get a new Standby for each for fresh blood, but could promote from within for those roles. Tour is riskier given the short time between venues and stamina will be key. We'll get an existing Elphie or at least a Standby for the full time role, the Standby would go to an U/S so I could see Laura getting bumped up to Standby! I'm still not excluding a Tucker/Willemijn stunt cast for the 10th Anniversary...... do you know more about the new Glinda? Hint?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they brought Rachel back, maybe for a limited three month run or something to celebrate the 10th Anniversary. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if they brought back Miss. Dearman for the 10th Anniversary along with Rachel to have another go at Glinda. Those two really were the dream pair.

Miss Dearman who finishes Guys n Dolls on 30 July... A month of rehearsal (not that she'd need it!) to then start on 5 September!? Ooooo exciting* * however unlikely, the 10th will probably just be a balloon drop!

Guys, this is just the most beautiful thing! One of the Broadway monkeys got engaged, his boyfriend dressed as a monkey to trick him... tears are flowing right now watching this!

Does anyone know why Wicked did so badly at the 2007 Olivier awards? I mean, it wasn't even nominated for Best New Musical against what wasn't exactly strong competition.

Does anyone know why Wicked did so badly at the 2007 Olivier awards? I mean, it wasn't even nominated for Best New Musical against what wasn't exactly strong competition. I always find it odd that it was never a success at the Oliviers. I mean, even at the Tony's, Avenue Q beat it famously for Best Musical which again is surprising to me. And only 3 nominations at the Oliviers initially was also surprising. I would of thought that it deserved a nom for Best New Musical and also Best Actress in a Musical for Idina at least.
It has just always been more of an audience show rather than a critics or industry insider show. It has never been the kind of show to have success at the kind of awards show they produce (if that makes any sense at all, I hope you understand what I mean haha).
Lets not forget that it has since won two Oliviers in the Audience Award category, and been nominated an additional three times on top of that.
At the same time as all this, the complete audience nominated awards show Whatsonstage.com has seen it continuously nominated an winning since its conception, continuously being nominated in categories like Best Takeover in a Role and Best West End Show.

Interesting how the above article states cast subject to change from 5th September...not knowing who will leave, at least we know that cast change definitely we'll be before the anniversary.

I really hope they bring Rachel back! I did tweet her a few weeks back saying I hope they bring her back for the 10th and she Liked...which gives me slight hope haha but then again I'm probably just reading way too much into that.

Laura Emmitt is on as Elphaba tonight (1st April, 2016) So with a scheduled show last week and another run tonight, crossing fingers this is an audition type show.... Laura will be amazing to get bumped up (or even for tour!)

Laura will be amazing to get bumped up (or even for tour!) Maybe Emma is just sick.... Natalie is away on hols. She can be standby, as long as we get a new Elphaba ( and Glinda) for London

Michelle Pentecost is on as emergency s/b Elphaba for both shows today. Due to ensemble shortages, Laura Emmitt is doing a double track, so they brought Michelle back in case Emma went off ill today.

I wouldn't call Caroline or change, avenue q, spamalot or porgy and bess weak shows. 2007 was a strong year for musicals
