I think you mean "get excited about Wicked until January" Touché. I'm excited regardless.... Four new Elphies for me so I won't care who is on when I go and can plan around holidays too for Standby shows!

Will bring some excitement back into Wicked I'm really looking forward to seeing Suzie Mathers (plus she's the cutest Glinda we ever had), but after seeing Rachel on Broadway this March, I'm not overly keen to see her returning to London. Unless I can manage to make some of the standby dates, I'm extending my Wicked London hiatus until February next year.

Let's be honest, February isn't that far away with how quickly this year is going! The X Factor will be starting at the end of August and that's pretty much the count down to Christmas!! Personally I'm so excited to see Rachel back. I just love her voice and her portrayal of Elphaba... There is something about her that just is Elphaba to me.

Well look at how this thread is starting to get busy again, Rachel returning is generating interest, something which the current cast have failed to do, imo

Rachel just SLAYED that Defying Gravity last night! Can't wait to see her again, she just is Elphaba to me. However I would also like to see Alice, Jessamy or Alexandra! And really looking forward to seeing Suzie Mathers as Glinda She and Rachel will probably both have to do a British accent right? Rachel has evolved her Elphaba so much on Broadway, Suzie hasn't played Glinda for a year and there will be many new ensemble members so I think the current cast members that are staying and the entire show will still get a boost of (in my opinion needed) freshness. Only one month to go! They will probably start rehearsals soon? And wondering when Rachel and Suzie will join the rest of the new cast..

Suzie has the range to hit the optional high notes in No-one Mourns The Wicked and Thank Goodness. Hopefully, she'll do them in London as well.

So I don't think it's a question of getting the freedom to do it, but rather having the range for it.

Really looking forward to seeing the new Glinda but think a Rachel and Carina show will be something pretty special too!

I see they answer that Glinda hits (optionally) an F6 and a G6- i really think though her highest (optional) note is an E6, while the non optional highest note is a C6- i remmeber Kara Lindsay speaking of this in a Playbill interview, I'll try and find it tommorow. i could be wrong of course- I haven't got the most trained ear.

In this thread, they say it's an E6 in No One Mourns The Wicked (on "she died *a*lone" and another one on the final note) and an F6 in Thank Goodness ( final note) Edit: And in this discussion on BWW, they also confirm that these high notes are a, optional and b, an E in NOMTW and an F in TG.

That's interesting thank you michael. Wow an f6 is one tough note- especially sustained like it is at the end of TG. My hats are off to those talented ladies who choose to hit it.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, Wicked US have released a podcast and the first in a series chatting to the actors in the show - hosted by their Nessa & Boq! Great interview with Rachel Tucker to kick off the series, chatting about her past - including how many times and when she first auditioned for Elphaba! (No spoilers!) I just listened to the recordings and I do feel that she was better a few years ago. I loved her then now it seemed just a bit more shouty. But doing the role so many years, even with a break, messes with your voice.

This may be the first time I've posted in the Wicked thread on this board. OK, cheapest place to book Wicked tickets in advance please? Also, I've checked theatre monkey but any advice on restricted view seats? Asking for a relative.
