If us plebs are all being made to sit upstairs I can't see how they can charge £100+ a ticket for the back of the circle or the upper circle...
Will definitely be interested to see what happens next Friday!

I could see them selling at rediculous prices because it's an "event" (yet they wont even say what's planned) Does anyone know what the ticket prices were for the Bway anniversary?

No way i'd risk paying a fortune for a ticket, only to find out it's a normal show, with maybe speeches and a balloon drop.
Atleast with WWRY 10th Anniversary and closing night they released details about the event prior to tickets going on sale

So if anyone is interested I think the following is complete if you're keen to follow your favourite actors!
The only one I'm not sure about is 2nd u/s Nessa, Jessamy confirmed that she was Elphie u/s and on the Pfannee track so I've assumed she would also be 2nd Nessa (as Natalie McQueen currently).
Elphaba: Lead: Rachel Tucker Standby: Alice Fearn 1st u/s: Jessamy Stoddard 2nd u/s: Alexandra Grierson
Glinda: Lead: Suzie Mathers Standby: Carina Gillespie 1st u/s: Helen Woolf 2nd u/s: Rosa O'Reilly
Fiero: Lead: Oliver Saville 1st u/s: James Darch 2nd u/s: David Gale
Nessa: Lead: KRJ 1st u/s: Rosa O'Reilly 2nd u/s: Jessamy Stoddard
Boq: Lead: Idriss Kargbo 1st u/s: Joe Toland 2nd u/s: Joe Sleight
Morrible: Lead: Anita Dobson 1st u/s: Kerry Enright 2nd u/s: Claudia Kariuki
Wizard: Lead: Mark Curry 1st u/s: Martin Ball 2nd u/s: Russ Walker
Dillamond: Lead: Martin Ball 1st u/s: Russ Walker 2nd u/s: Scott Monello

A spot of Wicked trivia...do we know has anybody ever understudied Glinda and Elphaba at the same time? Louise Dearman playing both roles as lead got me thinking!

I think that's unlikely as both are such demanding roles, and there's a reason why they both have 3 covers instead of 2. Although, very often (or even always?), one of the Nessa understudies will also be a Glinda understudy and the other will also be an Elphaba understudy.

I can't think of anyone other than Louise who has played both, but I think Carmen Cusack (who played Elphie) would have made a stellar Glinda too (she also played Christine in Phantom- so she definitely has the range)- woman is STELLAR!

nope- I believe Louise is still the only person to have ever played both roles.
It's usually a Nessa and Elphaba/Glinda overlap instead.
I'd love to see a joint Boq & Fiyero understudy!!

what you'd need to do for someone to play both is to look at other shows, so Elphaba's are often also Eponine, while the Glinda's are Cosette's (in Les Mis). So to play both you need to find someone who has been both Cosette and Elphaba, and bring em back as Glinda!
(edit: that didn't make any sense, I apologise!)

Justine Puy understudied both Elphaba and Glinda simultaneously on the Australasian National Tour for a while. She performed as Glinda but never as Elphaba I think.
Jessamy Stoddart is definitely not an understudy for Nessa as she confirmed both on Twitter and in person she's just doing Elphaba. The other u/s slot will be taken by one of the girls that haven't openly confirmed or denied covering anything yet, so either Chanel Mian, Ella Nonini or Sasha Wareham (or an existing cast member I suppose).

She tweeted something about joining the company as ensemble and u/s Elphaba I think? But she also told someone at Les Mis stage door that she's just covering Elphaba.

I'd love to see a joint Boq & Fiyero understudy!! I think Danny Mac could have done both and him as Fiyero would have been more believable than his cover role as Boq. Why Glinda didn't run away with him I will never know. ..

Wizard: Lead: Mark Curry 1st u/s: Martin Ball 2nd u/s: Russ Walker Is Martin Ball confirmed to be understudying The Wizard? He didn't understudy it back in the original cast so it would be interesting to see.

I don't think playing both Fiyero and Boq is actually a possibility, at least going by the Equity casting breakdown: Fiyero is 5'11'' and above while Boq is 5'7'' and below.

Don't take that literally, according to that Nessa needs to be in her "20's", KRJ most def not in her 20's. Also Elphaba and Glinda in their 20's, again all Elphabas and Glinda's since Rachel Tucker joined in 2010 have been older ?

Can anyone tell me, is there some form of database of web page online of casting for previous performances of when a understudy was on? I once came across a list of dates and the cast on for that performance. It wasn't the Wicked Wiki productions info but trying to chase back any understudies I may have had...? Hope you can help! Many thanks. I know the innuendooutnuendo forum has very active "at this performance" threads for each production where they post when an understudy goes on, just look by the date of each post- that might help I think What subject on this forum do you think I need to look at? Thanks ever so much for your help x

You're right with regards to age, one can appear much younger/older on stage than they actually are, but interestingly I think height - for Wicked in particular - is probably a very precise matter. For example, Glinda *has* to be a certain height to fit into the bubble, therefore Elphaba's height will have to look right compared to Glinda, Fiyero taller to match his dashing good looks and arrogant personality (not saying tall people are arrogant, it just helps with the caricature of his character on stage) and Boq shorter to emphasise his "left in the background" forlorn-ness and that he interacts with someone in a chair so can't be towering above them! It's not a show I've auditioned for, but knowing friends who have & who have been/are in/are going into the show, it does seem to fit! Height features quite prominently in casting, I've found. Shows such as Les Mis where Jean Vajean and Javert need to look compatible in height, when they cast the shorter Alfie Boe as Valjean, they cast a shorter than average Javert in Hadley Fraser to balance it out! Off-topic a little, but slightly interesting none-the-less! Haha.

Boq is shorter as he is a munchkin
There have been taller understudy Boq's which made the part when he stands on a step to appear taller when talking to Glinda slightly redundant.

Do you think they will wait until Rachel starts before posting holiday dates?
