I’m sure there will be some people glad to see KH again (with or without a shirt on)! Though I must admit, I’ve never heard of the other guy.

He appeared in Jerusalem, Hangmen and mostly recently ads for the Cineworld Unlimited card... I wonder what's happening with Classic Spring's Shaw season, maybe they want to launch it in 2019 rather than straight after the Wilde Season. True West is also going to be playing on Broadway around the same time, has that ever happened with two different productions of the same play? |

I'll be fair, I love Johnny Flynn's music, but I've never entirely forgiven him for The Low Road. Maybe I could've done if he were a stronger actor, but I've seen him in at least half a dozen plays now, and feel strongly he should save his acting for TV, if he must do it at all.

His theme for The Detectorists is great. On first listen it felt a little too pastiche-y, but over 3 amazing seasons (well, 2 amazing seasons and 1 great one) it really grew on me. Heart felt, sweet and melancholy just like the show. |

I'm torn about this one.
I do really like Sam Shepard when done well (though it's often done badly)
I absolutely LOVE Johnny Flynn (especially his music) but also thought he was great in Jerusalem, Twelfth Night and Hangmen (though I agree with the poster above about The Low Road).... however I don't know if I can bring myself to see Kit one-expression-like-someone-kicked-a-puppy Harington. But perhaps he's not so bad on stage as he is in Game of Thrones?

Harington may be one of the weaker actors on Game of Thrones, but I thought he was pretty good in Doctor Faustus and I look forward to see him again. To be fair to him, Jon Snow is always so trussed up in big furs, it makes it hard to use any sort of body language.
Johnny Flynn can be hit and miss. I prefer him as a singer, too, and thought he was terrible in Twelfth Night (looked all woooden and uncomfortable in that female get up) but terrific in Hangmen.
I like me some eyecandy for christmas, so I've booked.

Dunster directed True West about 20 years ago for the West Yorkshire Playhouse & Donmar, transferring to Broadway with Philip Seymour Hoffmann and John C Reilly, alternating the lead roles.
For people who like to know running times - it's usually either 1 hour 40 with no interval or 2 hours with an interval. Dunster did it straight through last time.

Oh. According to Baz, Flynn will be writing original songs for this production (unless I've MASSIVELY misunderstood what he means by "the Vaudeville show", in which case I'd be even *more* interested).
..... okay, maybe I'll see if there's rush tickets or a lottery or something.....

one-expression-like-someone-kicked-a-puppy Johnny Flynn can be hit and miss. I thought Flynn was good in the indie film Beast, though he's meant to be gruff and enigmatic. I haven't seen enough of his other work to judge. Kit Harrington... well, at least he'll bring a fresh audience into the theatre rather than the usual 'born to it' crowd. And I like the play. |

Flynn was superb in Hangmen and Beast, although the roles were quite similar. He does enigmatic well and I think he'll suit this part.

Well after a year of Oscar Wilde, anyone wandering into the Vaudeville a week or two late expecting to see The Importance of Being Earnest will be in for a hell of a shock!
A bit like the elderly couple at Brighton Theatre Royal in the recent past who took their seats next to me in the stalls expecting to watch Wonderland (I think?) but instead started watching The Boys in the Band! They had the right seats for the wrong week! There was a hiatus as they got up and left!!!!
