Great, so they are starting to sell tickets without a cast being announced... Is this going to be Chess all over again?
I can't be in London then anyway, but I wish they would only announce this kind of "semi-staged all-star" thing once they have at least a few names secured.

Announcing an all-star concert without announcing the stars sounds like a brilliant marketing strategy...

Not keen on the RAH for musicals - the sound is never good in my experience and with just a couple of performances or so they never get a chance to get it right. It would have be a stellar cast to get me to book for this, although Guys & Dolls is one of the greatest musicals. Haven't checked the prices but no doubt stratospheric?

Stephen Mear can I forgive him after Chess?

I hope they film it and release a DVD like they did with Phantom. That was a special anniversary performance though. You guys think there is any hope of this happening?

So long as they don't ask Jamie Parker back I don't mind. He royally buggered up 'Luck Be A Lady' when I saw it.

I saw Jamie Parker at Chichester and thought he was brilliant.

Another plus vote for Jamie Parker here. I saw him both at Chichester & the Savoy, 3 times in total, and thought he was excellent each time.
I might potentially be interested in an RAH performance but only depending on the cast. It drives me mad that people are expected to book for musicals before any cast announcements. Opera casts are almost always announced before booking opens. The Proms are guilty of this: all the classical concerts have the performers announced before tickets go on sale but the John Wilson musicals don't.

I agree, Dawnstar. I saw him four times and he was amazing each time. I would be surprised if he came back from Broadway for this though.
I wonder whether it will be our chance to see Michael Xavier as Sky? He was doing Sunset Boulevard when the chance to take over from Jamie Parker happened - although Oliver Tompsett was brilliant too. I think Xavier has got the dreamy voice and the acting chops. And he's a little bit sexy.
Do you think they'd get Sheridan Smith as Adelaide? I think she'd be excellent. And she's a name.

Yes, Lady Gaga and Groban are pencilled in for the leads. 🙄

I mean it’s a wonderful shout for Sheridan to be Adelaide. I think she’s be ablsoutely great at it - do you think they could convince her just for a couple of shows? It’s be enough to get me there (I love the show but need a good cast to spend the money)

Alex Gaumond would fit the bill for me. Haydn Oakley would be my choice for Nathan. Sheridan would be amazing as Adelaide, but she appears to be on a slightly different planet at the moment, so my vote would go to Cassidy Janson ( not that I’ve got a vote per se).

Thanks for the reminder, I've booked ... now bring me some stars!
Actually, I'd love to see Clive Rowe revive his Nicely Nicely, it's still one of my stand out theatre moments ever ever ever.

Just to note that all the choir seats are on sale for £17.50 if anyone fancies watching from behind on the cheap!

Monty Python did a thing at The Albert some years ago, I bought a couple of fabby seats in the raised Stalls side on ... then the b*stards went and elongated the stage, so all I saw were back of heads. Lots of mugging to audience were lost on me. Don't think I could bear choir after that.
For those who might like, when the did the Phantom spectacular at the Albert in 2011 I thought I'd do a tour on the afternoon, found myself watching rehearsals and almost run over by Hadley Fraser doing a storming off set into the bunch of us. Gave me a lovely smile.
