I really don't feel that's what was meant. It's how it came across. Maybe needs rephrasing? I can see from Twitter there are people booking flights to London in the hope of getting day seats since hearing it has Blanchett half-naked with a strap-on. Again, I'm not presuming to speak for someone else, but it also clearly wasn't meant as a personal attack on you either.

Yea, it was definitely not a person attack, nor was it meant in some religious sense. But I'd rather see a ticket go to some massive Blanchett fan from, say, Newcastle, who spends a night in a hotel, so she/he can start queuing at 5am, enjoy her idol on stage, then take the night coach back or something than someone who just by luck lives in London and snatches up a ticket simply because it's the hottest ticket in town and they want to feel smug.
Thanks to living on the continent, I have also missed out on MANY things I would have loved to see and will continue to miss lots of things. Yet last year I wanted something really really badly, so I did throw a lot of money into the wind for it and I have no regrets.

This is getting some people very excited on Twitter! Actually, I wonder if this is partly why they’ve decided not to NT Live it? This sort of content would find difficulty getting mainstream distribution if it was in a film - there’s all sorts of issues with various international ratings boards. This looks to be by the person who dashed up at the curtain call to give Cate a present.

Blood?! Well that's replaced snow as my main concern. In a Richard ii almeida way Ade or more realistic? Not seen Richard II so can’t say. So the shaving foam is the primary mess on this one. There are two main moments where blood is used but in a smudge across the skin type of way rather than splattered on the walls.

Well, what a mercy! Not least for the poor SMs and team who have to clear up.

The first person in the queue arrived at 3am today Ludicrous that the National have created a situation where people feel they have to do this. Unless I was offered a threesome with Idris Elba and Alex Jennings no way would I be up and OUT at that time for anyone or anything.

Unless I was offered a threesome with Idris Elba and Alex Jennings no way would I be up and OUT at that time for anyone or anything. See that should be a very specific threesome and yet... Also if they’re offering some “immersive” performances of Peter Gynt. Like dressing room level immersive. THEN I’d consider it.

How could anyone hear that La Blanchett would be lolling about the stage waving a strap on dildo about and not want to see it. I think that's worth 3am of anyone's time personally.

The gift was a bag, my sources tell me, adding that it was "weird and silly" and that CB looked shocked but tentatively took it. I'm imagining it being handed to an assistant backstage with a crisp "Get rid of this."

Not appropriate at all to just pounce mid-bow like that

I trust this bag was small enough to pass the nts bag policy in the first place.

Who would do that?! No wonder if Cate looked suspicious or not amused.

Who would do that?! No wonder if Cate looked suspicious or not amused. Oh - people. I've seen it before. Maybe they think the star's molecules touching their own makes them connected for ever. I bet some of those gifters lick the gift or rub against it first.

Sizeable crowd at the stage door tonight, although does anyone know if that has been par for the course while A&C has been on?

When Cate was on Broadway with The Present, fans stalked her everyday at the theatre. So much so that they had to put barriers up before the show, because fans would be waiting by the stage door for her to arrive. This BS is some of them trying to recreate those moments for social media.

I trust this bag was small enough to pass the nts bag policy in the first place. Hahaha! The thought of an usher frantically lunging forward.... and holding up that maximum bag size diagram, then relaxing and giving her the nod.

Here are a couple of quotes from the review:
Those at the first preview described it as “sexually gross” with explicit simulations of sexual acts including a foursome in a car that culminates in violence against women. One audience member said that the “extreme violence” made it unpleasant to watch.
Mr Tucker said it had been “an incredibly brave performance” by Blanchett. “It is so exposing,” he said. “It is sometimes unpleasant to watch; there are people out there who do this really hardcore violence and messed-up sex. For all women out there [she is saying] even when you are 49 you can . . . be all-powerful and sexy.” (Mr Tucker was an audience member)
Only a small number of day tickets are available. On Wednesday people started queuing for those before 4am.
