Is this actually confirmed or just a Baz rumour?

Lovely news. Finally something new and exciting.
I have a feeling next year will be one of the most exciting years for Broadway transfers and new openings that we've had for a while.

Fell in love with this show in NYC this year so I’m so thrilled it’s coming over here. Jenna Russell please...!
Really the most heart warming, life affirming, humans being decent and caring, Show I’ve ever seen.

Baz is a generally reliable source. Whenever something he's predicted hasn't come to fruition, it's usually been because those involved changed their minds, rather than because he was making stuff up. Chicago was only ever planned as a stop-gap as far as I'm aware. It might now extend its currently booking period to January, but I don't think anyone was under the illusion it would be hanging around for years this time round.

Lovely. Now can someone encourage Justin Trudeau-oh-OH to pop on a plane to come to the opening?

Excellent news - been wanting to see this for ages! And now it doesn't even matter that I might not make it to New York later in the year.

Very excited for this transfer. Heard a lot of good things about the show from those who’ve seen it on Broadway so I’m looking forward to it hitting the West End next year.

Amazing news. A truly touching piece of theatre. Loved it in New York. I really hope that it finds its audience in London.
I wonder if any of the amazing original cast may come with it!?

Having it open next year in London, means that I am able to see something else in NY in the autumn as it was going to be on a list of stuff I wanted to see. Thankyou theatre gods!

I am very excited about having a British actor play the British character. I LOVED the show on Broadway, but that accent made me cringe every time!

Feel like it might be all British cast (hope some Irish folk will be in it too seeing as it's starting in Dublin), which is exciting!

With it opening in February I believe it should just make the cut off for the Olivier Awards next year.

I read a while ago it has to of done at least 30 performances before the cut off to be Olivier eligable. So it is going to be very on the line if it does make eligability.

With it opening in February I believe it should just make the cut off for the Olivier Awards next year. So what could be nominated next year? Come From Away Strictly Ballroom Tina Turner - The Musical Heathers Fun Home Sylvia Twelfth Night Hadestown I read a while ago it has to of done at least 30 performances before the cut off to be Olivier eligable. So it is going to be very on the line if it does make eligability. The 2019 seems to be a very weak year for best musical, Come From Away has a great chance of winning next year. it will go head to head with Fun Home.

Never said it didn't have a great chance of winning, probably does. I just said it may be pushing it a tad on its eligability date dependant on the date they open.

Sylvia runs 5 performances short of eligibility so that can't get a nom. Not sure if Other Palace is eligible, which given that La Strada was eligible last season I guess it is (https://officiallondontheatre.com/news/eligible-productions-for-the-olivier-awards-2018-111407678/) but no mention of say Big Fish which surely should have been? #confused
