Stage stop last night as the revolve broke! Looked like part of the stage team came and took them all off as they fixed it, which took about 10 minutes. Cast took it really well and just carried on as if nothing had happened (don't think this was a spoiler but it was just as they arrived at the school), Have seen it before so it didn't ruin it for me, hoping it did not affect any first time watcher's experience!

It didn’t. I’m just intrigued to know how they all knew to move off the stage at the same time because I didn’t hear anything or see anyone. The cast board is at the left of the main lobby. There's also a great Twitter account dedicated to the Standbys that usually posts when one of them are on. Www.Twitter.com/illwriteSTFDFrom the looks of things, you can full cast bar one last night Thanks, no there was definitely more than one. Sadly having the cast board there is no use for people up top and even less use if they switch it off before the show finishes. One person was having the man behind the main march stand go through the programme with him because he also wanted to know which cast he’d seen. (The staff member wasn’t sure either.)

I think they all suspected it as the revolver was supposed to start moving a few seconds before they got pulled off, I was sat on the edge of row E and could see stage manager indicating to come off. They also have screens which are mounted on the edge of the first balcony which has the conductor on but maybe it came up with a message too? Glad it didn't affect your experience.

Oh yes the screens would make sense because the way they all moved together even they weren’t all facing the same direction was impressive.

Maybe they have just been told to come off if the revolve doesn't start and that's just the plan.

Maybe they have just been told to come off if the revolve doesn't start and that's just the plan. I don’t know. It seemed mid sentence. It was working then just stopped as one of the actors had to push another out of the way. Anyway, it was all very professional and interesting to seem them dismantling a bit of the set.

You'll have had Tania Mathurin as Hannah as well, Cat is still signed off. I *think* it should have been full cast otherwise. That cast board has been a pain recently, it wasn't on on Friday when I was there, turned on about ten mins before the show started in the end.

Yes. She was fantastic. I thought the rules were two of three though? Announcement, Cast Board and/or Slip In the Programme? Last night we barely got one.

Totally agree with the location of the cast board d'James. I always collect my ticket at the box office or else I wouldn't see it, plus it's in such a compact space it is often hard to see it behind a group of people.

I often struggle to find out who I am seeing, From the upper circle they had to radio other people to check, I knew Bonnie was a cover but not which one!

Saw yesterday’s matinee and the show is in fine form and one of all time favourites at this point. I stand by my assertions that if you lived through 9/11 your relationship with this is totally different than if you didn’t... that scene where they all see what happened for the first time kills me every time - there’s a big difference between knowing what they’re seeing and knowing what they’re watching.

Indeed - I was working for a media organisation at the time and I remember groups of us crowding into reception to watch the news on the TV there in utter shock and dismay. It would be interesting, though, to hear from the younger folk on the forum who don’t remember the attacks because of their age - how did the scene strike them? (Or perhaps that’s buried somewhere in the 85 pages of this thread!) Watching Come from Away a few months ago, the thing that really struck me was the reminder of the lack of mobile telephones back then, and therefore the difficulty in communicating good or bad news to people.

I was 6 months old when 9/11 happened so obviously don’t remember it at all but I still found that scene the most emotional of the show, I cried so much at it.

I'm in on Saturday. Just wondering where the cast board is? I'll be collecting my ticket so I heard it's in that area?

And it cycles through different pages with ads etc, so may not have the cast list at first glance .

They are doing a Kiss The Fish experience in the Rock Bar after the show tonight.Photo ops and free badges for all participants. There must be a pantomime joke in there somewhere. Lol - anyone who hasn’t seen the show won’t have a clue what this means.

They are doing a Kiss The Fish experience in the Rock Bar after the show tonight.Photo ops and free badges for all participants. There must be a pantomime joke in there somewhere. Lol - anyone who hasn’t seen the show won’t have a clue what this means. We happened to be there tonight and took full advantage! Full details: this is available after the show in the space outside the Rock bar. There are three packages: £5 for a Polaroid photo in front of the board with “I kissed the fish” and the image of the screech in ceremony; £10 for the same package plus a shot of screech rum; and £15 for the same package as the £10 plus a genuine Newfoundland made shot glass with the phrase “I got screeched in” to take home. We were the first to take up the offer and didn’t given get a badge, nor did we remember to ask unfortunately. Once this has been done a few times it will probably be a lot smoother. A lovely little experience though, especially if you’re a big fan like myself!

Can’t imagine how poignant the performance will be on 9/11 this year ... and they have two shows that day 🙏

David Shannon is leaving the show on 7 September due to family commitments in Ireland. David Thaxton is replacing him in the show.
