I think for SoR, the band is on the stage so a pit won't be an issue

It's not a massive show. When I was watching it I thought it would fit very well into the new London. The winter garden stage is quite wide

Surprise this has got to t off the ground so quickly, but worrying that Andrew Lord Webber, does even want to put one of his own shows in his own big theatre.
Does anyone want Drury Lane/London Palladium? Unless you count 'Who's Line Is It Anyway' as a success!

Does anyone want Drury Lane/London Palladium? Unless you count 'Who's Line Is It Anyway' as a success! He probably thought that Show Boat would last long at the New London but when it announced closure thought it would be a safer theatre than the Palladium. If logistically SoR can fit without being scaled down from Broadway TOO much, then why not? It would be too risky at a theatre twice as big, capacity wise. As for the Palladium, who knows if another open-ended show will come along or it will just be used for variety concerts and TV? I'm more interested to see what will go into Drury Lane after Charlie. With Mary Poppins rumoured, it could do well if it was a limited run perhaps but possibly may struggle midweek. Besides is the West End ready for 3 Disney shows?? It obviously doesn't carry the "variety" label that the Palladium had/has so I hope that doesn't turn into a variety/TV house as well, although it looks like that's happening with Michael McIntyre's Big Show, and it does usually have a few concerts on throughout the year. |

Hmmmm...now I kind of think that suggesting the SpongeBob musical a few pages back wasn't such a good idea. 3 Disney shows (best make that 4 if Pinocchio goes ahead at the National!), Harry Potter and Nickelodeon. Then all we'll need is a revival of Shrek! |

McIntyre's show was done on Sundays likewise with the concerts. I think Poppins probably will do fine if it goes into Drury Lane, The King and I might be an option as well since that needs a big theatre. I wonder if Paramour might go to one of the big theatres if it proves successful on Broadway? |

News of this transfer has made me SO happy! I was literally lamenting to a friend earlier today that I wished I'd seen it on Broadway and hoped it'd come over soon! Very exciting! I really hope Alex Brightman comes over with the show though. He gives such a fantastic vocal performance on the cast album!

I didn't even realise there was an official London site until I looked this morning. But I can't see that getting tickets is going to be a problem when ordinary booking opens.... or at least I hope not!
