Revival of SEA WALL, by Simon Stephens, Old Vic, 18-30 June (14 performances) Public sale from noon tomorrow. www.oldvictheatre.com/whats-on/2018/sea-wallI saw this when it was at the NT Shed, a few years back. It's only 30 minutes long, but utterly compelling.

I am SO excited for this. Andrew Scott is my favourite actor, Simon Stephens is my favourite playwright, and seeing them work together in Birdland sparked my love for theatre forever. I've seen the film version they made of this but I know I HAVE to go and see this. It'll cost me a fortune (short notice, so missing out on shifts and trains down to London from Scotland are not cheap) but I don't care how much it'll cost. I'm going if I can get my hands on a ticket. And I will be devastated if I can't.

Oh God. I have no idea how I'll do it, but I'll do it.

Oh nice! I already saw it but some of those curtain times look like it'll slot neatly around other shows I already have booked, so I'll certainly stick my head in when tickets go on public sale.

Was underwhelmed by this at nt so one less person to fight you for tickets, or may just be that I'm a bit heartless, everyone else around was certainly much more engaged.

I was thinking the 5.30pm on Saturday would fit nicely after my matinee of Fun Home, with time for a cup of tea in between.

Damn now I’m regretting not being a friend any more. Do we know prices for this yet? Hope good tickets will still be possible to get on Friday.

Would really like to see this. Only up to £20 though. I appreciate how good Andrew Scott is but I'm not paying (well, can't afford) more than £20 for a half hour.

Underwhelmed by this as well. Exciting to see Scott up close when I saw it at the Bush, but the actual play just wasn't thrilling enough.

Hmmm.... seems like the Old Vic needed something cheap yet popular in order to make up for a lacklustre start to the year in terms of box office; cue the theatrical catnip that is Andrew Scott.
Managed to catch Sea Wall ten years ago when it was on at the old Bush as part of some festival of short work. I remember admiring it (and Scott) at the time, but I think I would struggle a bit with it now.

I don't really get the fuss about this writer and actor. I have seen several plays by Simon Stephens and hear he's highly-regarded elsewhere in Europe, which might explain his appeal, if only I understood the significance of that information.

Good luck seeing little Andy Scott from the back row of the Lilian Baylis. He's teeny tiny. Like a little pocket person.

Nope. I'm just chilling on the website and refreshing periodically.

It let me queue, I got through, then it said tickets not on sale, I refreshed, got 'rejected number' so I suppose it's a case of refreshing.

darn, just lost my number.... Happened to me as well, just now. Which is annoying because I was 172 and now am 370. I wonder if they count "used" numbers in that? Also, is that for all dates or just the one I've selected? Questions, questions, questions...

Yes, I was 82, now I'm 400 and something and it looks like I'll get through before noon so will have to start all over again!
