Has anyone got a picture of the view from the dress circle slips everyone is raving about? SeatPlan don't seem to list them!! I looked the other week and it really annoyed me that they didn't have it configured for the side slips! As I was curious what the actually view was like!

^I was in DC SB2.1 which was perfect. There is a padded rail to lean on with very minor restrictions by a few lighting bars to the left eyeline.Only scene where I thought I missed anything was the kite flying scene but only a little bit.

Can anyone tell me are the leads doing all performances? Or would understudies be on for some?

As my final show for 2019, what a way to end the year. I attended today’s matinee performance and spent a magical afternoon soaking it all in. It was really nice to actually have a ticket with some nice artwork on it rather than the bland generic theatre tickets that get printed. As someone who retains the tickets, this one will certainly brighten up my collection.
This really is a stellar cast with some truly wonderful pieces of magic on display (“A Spoonful of Sugar” in the kitchen) and the stunning choreography of “Step in Time” and Mary’s flying (even if she didn’t go to the top of the auditorium as in the original production).
Petula Clark, whilst only being on stage for a brief period was spot on and was a joy to listen to her sing “Feed the Birds”.
I enjoyed the set design of the house even if it wasn’t as impressive as the original version and the lighting design was just lush, particularly at the end. Sound mixing was spot on this afternoon.
I’ll admit I did shed a tear (or several) at the end when Mr Banks finally realised what was important in life. This is definitely a show for both the little ones and us big kids. Certainly walking out onto Old Compton St this evening I was humming the songs.

Are lottery tickets for this just random seats or is it a specific area/row?

At the show this evening - Claire Moore is on as the Bird Woman and Rachel Spurrell appears to be in the Miss Andrew track - neither of which are listed in the programme understudy list, so am not quite sure what’s going on - I think Claire is much more suited to the Bird Woman, she gave a beautiful version of Feed The Birds.

Saw this tonight on a whim, and there is a tradition to see a Disney show for my birthday if one is available. I was sat in Grand Circle box 2 and I'm not ashamed to admit I completely cried when Mary flew past me at the end. I cannot fault this show and wish it's predecessor Aladdin had been of the same calibre. In no rush to see Mary Poppins again but what a brilliant show, this is the quality Disney should be at. (Also brilliant to see so many well behaved children at the theatre!)

Do you think the ones towards the front of the box are better, or the back? So glad you enjoyed it, and happy Birthday!

The seating was unassigned in the box, as I was the first one in there I tested each seat and preferred the view at the back of the box. The chairs can be moved. I also liked the back because I meant I could lean over as much as I wanted without disturbing anyone. Thank you!

(Also brilliant to see so many well behaved children at the theatre!) This is because Disney had, creatively, very little to do with the production. They merely financed it and gave permission for the songs and the brand. The wonderful show is all down to Cameron, Julian, George and Anthony.

You've forgotten Richard Eyre and Matthew Bourne. I think the director and choreographer had a little to do with it!

You've forgotten Richard Eyre and Matthew Bourne. I think the director and choreographer had a little to do with it! And the Sherman Brothers. The best music in the show BY FAR is still the original songs from the film & it’s shocking how often Styles & Drew seem to have be granted primary credit for the Mary Poppins’ score.

I saw this on Thursday. I originally saw the tour when it started out at Curve a few years ago. I was excited to see Charlie Stemp for the first time and i thought he was great but i got the impression he wasn't giving it 100% at the matinee.

This is what I'm looking at for later in the month. I want to see the flying up close!

At 11.55 this morning I was reading on the Forum about the seat lottery for Dear Evan Hansen. It made me think about the lottery for Mary Poppins and at 11.58 I entered. At 12.01 the screen changed - no email as I expected - with next week's schedule. I clicked on next Monday and was offered two row B stalls seats @ £25 which I've booked. Confirmation received at 12.04.
I had no idea it was so easy to enter, win and book. Very happy.

I think perhaps it’s at a weird enough day and time that people forget to enter it! I know I have - been meaning to enter since I heard about it over Christmas, but keep forgetting!

I have put it in my notebook and was reminded this time. Got straight through and got me and my friend tickets in row C in the stalls next Monday.

Well I managed to see this too at short notice and managed to secure Royal Circle B9 at £45 on the day from the Box Office. I tried to exchange it for a stalls ticket nearer the start time but staff insisted I stay in the Circle as the view is preferred up here even though I personally prefer the stalls. That being said, yes this was certainly a bargain as the whole stage was visible although Mary Poppins flies the other direction.
It definitely plods away the evening and will please fans of both the film and books. I thought Charlie Stemp was fantastic as Bert and the kids were great although I would've preferred the kids to be written as less bratty and more like they were in the film but that might just be me.

Entered the lottery today and won! Had a little search around the dates to see what seats I could get, was offered front row for a thurs matinee but thought it would be a touch too close so opted for row d stalls for a wed eve, which I only found out after is family night so a little trepidatious haha but on the other hand a 7pm start time for an almost 3hr show is quite nice!

I also entered the lotto today and managed to get a ticket. Didn’t get straight through - had to wait about 5 minutes to be filtered in, so obviously had far less choice. Got Y8 in the stalls for the Sunday matinee though.
