This is good news but unlike On the Town it's a concert version of the music only with a running time of just 76 minutes!

I'm intrigued that they are charging top dollar for this. For the Proms they always have a logical pricing structure with the late night events cheapest, then the British orchestras a bit pricier, the lower rung of the international orchestras (Bergen Philharmonic et al) a bit pricier still and then the absolute elite (Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic) most expensive of all. This seems fair. Wilson's concerts are always in the top price bracket and for things like last years 0klahoma! this seems totally justified but charging this for 76 minutes seems a bit cheeky (and they are doing it twice.)
Having said that I'll still pay it though as no one conducts this stuff better!

I'm guessing Arts Ed and Mountview students will be doing the dance numbers.

Is the score very long if you take away the dialogue?

Is the score very long if you take away the dialogue? I'm sure someone said that the running time in the Proms brochure is much longer than that published on the website.

I have the proms brochure in front of me. It says that the matinee runs from 3.30pm - c5.40pm and the evening 8.00pm - c10.10pm. There will be one interval.

Yes in the proms (print) guide it has a running time of 2 hrs 10 mins - including interval, which is usually a 'generous' 20 mins.

Oh that's not too bad a run time. It's a great score so it would be great to hear live.

I’m looking forward to this and hope the recent casting scandal doesn’t make it too hard to get tickets. I really want to treat my dad to a decent seat.

People may be trying to return tickets because Sierra is not performing!

I went to a talk with Humphrey Burton and he said it couldn’t not be televisised due to rights issues.

Has anyone heard if this Prom is going to be broadcast? The BBC Proms website has a list of those which are going to be broadcast. This isn't one of them, though it will of course be on Radio 3 as every Prom is. And On the Town is being broadcast.
