I think it's time for Forbidden Broadway to make a return. So much new material out there. I get a feeling Forbidden Broadway could get a return and the timing is spot on for their current show Spamilton. Which I saw in Los Angeles and is hilarious 😆. . The Bridges of Madison County has one peach score, would be great if this was done in Regent’s Park, that delightful score would sore there.

Perhaps they should get Mandy Patinkin back to have another go at their one and only original musical ‘Paradise Unbound’ (or maybe it was called Paradise something else, can’t remember). That would be much funnier than watching Marcus Brigstocke falling off a tightrope every night.

That would be much funnier than watching Marcus Brigstocke falling off a tightrope every night. It was called Paradise Found. 3 Tony award winners, 2 massive directors and the music of Strauss. What could possibly go wrong. It was so bad it was .... bad! I've got a framed signed poster of the cast on my wall. Must be worth a bob or two now.

I was overjoyed to see Mandy in a Hal Prince directed performance too - could expectations have been higher? ....but God it was dire!

I know this a popular choice among many on this board but we want Hedwig and the Angry Inch! I agree re: Hedwig, but I think the rights are tied up with the recent Broadway and US tour production, so a full scale proscenium vs a small fringe show. I think it would totally work at the Menier, but I'm sure the right holders want to mount their recent Broadway property. It's a shame it never materialized and made its way to London. I saw the US tour last summer and thought it was pretty good.

Good news indeed. Just downloaded the CD and half way through it. There is enough non Hamilton material in it to please musical theatre fans who have not seen or heard Hamilton. The last 2 Forbidden Broadway shows were some of my favourite shows at the Menier. Would be great if they could get Anna Jane Casey, Sophie Louise Dann and Damian Humbley back again for this one.

Looks like a cast of 6 for Spamilton (as opposed to 4 for the Forbidden Broadways). Have only seen one incarnation of Forbidden Broadway and that was 2009 at the Chocolate Factory (before they became expensive).

Would love to see this but maybe not at Menier prices. Wonder if this has transfer potential like the last Forbidden Broadway, so it can be seen much cheaper!

I did enjoy it more than Hamilton. It helps a little if you have managed to see the real Ham, but even if you haven't there is enough of the feel of Forbidden Broadway, to keep you laughing. However, if you decide to see Spam before Ham, you may not be able to keep a straight face in the Victoria Palace. The NY cast of Spamilton was fantastic, and it would be great is some of them came over.

Also. very cheap to produce, compared to a musical revival and will sell well. A fun musical and will put a smile on your face.

I saw this somewhat early in the run here in NYC and it was obvious Alessandrini struggles much more with hip-hop rhythms and lyrics than with traditional musical theatre, but it wasn't a bad show — just not a great one. And it didn't feel as fun as Forbidden Broadway.

I’ve got another trip to Hamilton at the end of July, so it might be fun to go to this in the same week. I’m definitely keen, great choice for the MCF, cheap to produce (I assume) and likely to sell very well.

Won't all the cast have to be non-white though, if it's a Hamilton parody? Otherwise presumably there will be another round of charges of racism a la WSS. Also Anna-Jane Casey will be busy with Calendar Girls & I'm not sure I can imagine Sophie-Louise Dann or Damian Humbley doing rap songs.

And it didn't feel as fun as Forbidden Broadway. Ive now listened to it on Spotify. Sounds ok but not amazing. A Hamilton spoof song would be fun but stretched out a lot longer, nah! Im thinking at MCF prices I wont be bothering seeing it

The entire New York cast was POC except the rotating "Diva" role, although I think sometimes she was a POC. She was kind of there to appease the OG Forbidden Broadway crowd and to give the show a bit of a break from being 100% a Hamilton parody.
