Johannes Radbe confirmed as Lola and Dan Partridge confirmed for Charlie. Confirmed where? Is this the original broadway/west end production going back on tour, or is a new/scaled back version?

I’ve seen the production artwork. Brand new production. “FALL HEAD OVER HEELS FOR THIS ALL NEW PRODUCTION”

Just seen the Mayflower’s teaser video on Facebook. My friend has been saying he wants to see the show for years so he’ll be delighted it’s finally returning. JoJo would be the icing on the cake! Fingers crossed.

It’s being staged at Storyhouse in Chester next month, and had another production somewhere else fairly recently too.
Is it me, or is it unusual for a big national tour to be announced while it’s playing in regional theatres?

Interesting size of venues - doesn't fill me with confidence there'll be much in the way of production...

Which would align well for Johannes given the Strictly season usually starts in July/Aug. Obviously he wouldn’t be able to do the arena tour in Jan/Feb but perhaps he’s happy to do something different next year.

Just had a quick look at this for Mcr Palace Theatre and front row of Grand Tier, Friday night, £51! These are usually cheaper seats at this venue as there are 2 sets of bars in view (although it's a better view than this suggests).
I think that's the most expensive I've seen these particular seats! I'm assuming they think this will sell very well.

I think Johannes is a great casting choice for this.
My only 'concern' (and I'm using that work very loosely) is that, unless they've changed the show significantly, is lack of dance for Lola's character. In the opening number we get to see Lola strutting, more than dancing. Her back up do more dancing that she does!
But maybe that's the point? Johannes has established that he can dance and he doesn't have to prove anything but may he now wants to show off his other acting and singing skills?
That's a great poster design BTW!

Six shows a week is interesting but not surprising.
He needs to be able to sing and dance though or this is going to be a slog (and let's not even start in the inevitable scaffolding Nikolai will use)

The warning about him not doing matinees comes up for some matinee performances but not others. For Manchester the warning comes up for the Wednesday matinee but not the Thursday one. Same for a couple of other venues ive checked. So he’s either doing some but not all matinees in certain venues or ATG have effed up.

Yes, Southampton Mayflower’s announcement says he won’t be doing the Weds or Thurs matinees.

I get why he won't be doing matinées, but I suspect a large amount of his fanbase would be more likely to attend those so it's a shame.
I've only seen the pro shot of the show, but I think that was enough. Especially as this looks almost certainly scaled back production values wise.

I'm not sure - Lola does a fair bit in Sex Is In The Heel, and some in Land of Lola and the finale number. With it being a brand new production, they could tailor it for Johannes' strengths.

With no London dates, I'm wondering whether this show could finish up its tour as the 2025 musical production at Regents Park Open Air Theatre? Since La Cage was so great at that venue, I have been thinking Kinky Boots would be brilliant there too.

Can Johannes sing ? It’s more a singing/acting role than dancing
