Probably the UK producers and artists want to minimise publicity outside Israel because many people outside Israel believe, for political reasons, that artists should boycott Israel. So, touring there can only bring negative publicity to the producers and to the artists involved. If that is the case it saddens me deeply and I don't want to support a tour that comes here and doesn't want it to be known. Don't need favors. I'm aware Israel's image in the world isn't the best (sometimes wrongfully others not), but I truly hope this isn't the reason. Don't take it to heart, ShoesForRent. HG has no facts to support him, only prejudice.

BTW, ShoesForRent, is Dudu Fisher still doing much musical theatre? You know, I've never actually seen him on stage, and he's been off the radar here so I googled, and he's expecting a daughter currently, and says he's about to expand internationally, he has 40 gigs lined up worldwide as a part of a partnership with IFCJ (http://www.ifcj.org/) I assume they're concerts. He also said he has had numerous offers from Broadway producers recently, but won't do a Broadway show until they let him have Saturdays off (as in he won't perform on the sabbath). After his tour he wants to integrate into children's theatre here (which I don't understand because it's usually very low quality.. The pay must be nice) But no- he hasn't being doing musical theatre at least since I started attending about 8-9 years ago- shame, he's a great talent.

I'll definetly look into finding his DvDs/ wether he's performing near me anytime soon BTW, and still O/T, who was the former child star who was in "Avenue Q" in Israel? She sang for Bill Clinton, then lost her reputation for refusing to do military service. Totally forgotten her name? I actually have no clue, and a google search wasn't fruitfull either (it played in Israel in 2006 apparently, and I was 11 at the time ha) but it does make sense for an actor/actress to lose reputation over not serving (though many choose to focus on their carrers rather than enroll- but most of the public doesn't agree/ support that)

Found it. "Liel." Agree, if those are the rules, they need to be followed. Hope you enjoy the DVD. And back to "G&D" with apologies for the diversion. Either this Liel has been SO shunned by the public that there is no mention of her (at least not in quick search), or she's Liel Kolet- who sang with Bill Clinton, but she wasn't in Avenue Q and she did serve. Ha, either way this was interesting- thanks for the conversation! Yes back to G&D

Ooooo how interesting, I wonder who will be taking her over? More star casting perhaps?

Interesting... I thought she was good but her equivalent, in the G&D Tour, was great. Such a beautiful voice.

I think that the tour Sarah will be pulled in to do the London version, shocked that Siubhan is leaving!

Rebel W on Graham Norton show tonight.
Awkward and unfunny in the presence of Saunders and Lumley who also looked uncomfortable with her (limited) input.
Ok so here's the thing. From what I've seen of Rebel Wilson her 'schtick' is the arch, sarcy, edgy, rude. Put her on stage with actors who actually understand comedy and she looks like someone dragged in off the street.
She sang a bit too, and it was bloody dreadful.
Sorry!

Bit unfair !!
Her singing was fine. I still can't see her in the role at all though. Physically she is all wrong. I just feel sorry for her having to perform those Hot Box numbers in skimpy costumes.
It's a rather sad case of shameless celebrity casting.
If Chicago were still on, they'd be trying to get her to play Roxie I'm sure.

Her singing wasn't that bad. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible.
As I've previously said, I don't really rate her as an actress but I'm tempted to see the show because of her, even after hating it earlier in the year.

Wow. The allowances made. Anyone else would be torn to pieces based on that (admittedly) short but dire sample.
Sorry but I think she is hugely overrated. Her attitude doesn't help.

Ever since her casting was announced, accompanied by photos of her (I'd never heard of her previously) I've been wondering what they'll do about costumes. Are they really going to have someone her size wearing the same costumes that the other, much slimmer Miss Adelaides have worn? If so then I feel sorry for her. It's going to be jolly unflattering alongside the ensemble in the same costumes. By the way, has anyone heard who's doing Sarah on tour with Anna O'Byrne leaving early? I booked for Woking months ago just to see her & now she won't be there I'm not sure if I can be bothered to go all that way unless the replacement has as good a voice.

Well, just to add that my criticism of Rebel is nothing to do with her dress size.
In fact I suspect that's pretty fundamental to her success?

No one thought it was. :-) It's 'funny' though, when I watched her tonight i really thought she looked like someone wearing a 'fat suit.' I really like her as a person (as much as one can from interviews) but she has never convinced me as an actress. I'm watching her in a film right now, and she doesn't even pull off being a young Australian woman.

I think she will be fine in the role. She won't be anything to write home about, as some star casting usually is, but she will be just fine in terms of playing the role.
I do agree with the costumes however. I can see them throwing her in glitzy gowns and making her a lounge type singer with with one of those old school microphones than have her in the full slinky outfits. L
Personally speaking, she is a draw for me, and she will most likely be the reason I go back to the show that was just meh when I saw it in January.

Erm maybe I'm missing something but hasn't she displayed in the Pitch Perfect films she actually has a good singing voice? I haven't seen them but many people tell me she does.. Bit unfair !! Her singing was fine. Bit rich! No it wasn't, it was sh*te.

No she doesnt really sing at all to speak of in the Pitch Perfect movies. When she does it's more comedic talk singing. you can probably find clips on YouTube.

A bit cruel of Graham Norton to get her to sing a cappella but it was truly awful. If she had turned up as an unknown and auditioned like that it would have definately have been "next please" after a few bars! Celebrity casting at its worst! Poor Simon Lipkin having to deal with that... still a gigs a gig.
