Former Steps band-mates Lee and H dropped in to see Faye at the show and give her some support.I seem to remember H doing some MT a few years ago but can’t remember what? He was Joseph in the Bill Kenwright tour when I was in the Choir back in 2006,i think he returned to play him again several years later, I don't know if he has done any other shows. He's done panto too. "Oh yes he has!"

I’ve just booked to see this next week. Was going to enter the lottery on the day but I was seeing the seating plan get more and more full every day so went and booked a seat in the stalls.
I have no idea what to expect and haven’t listened to the soundtrack once so really looking forward to it!

I was given Prison Officer in my high school career aptitude test and I’ve never identified with a show more than that moment.

Late news, but Adam Taylor made his debut as Jamie on Tuesday (first time I think a second cover has ever been on for that role)! Did anyone go?
I was there tonight for Luke Latchman (first cover Jamie) who was very good. Having seen four Jamies, he’s second best to me, behind only Luke Bayer. Fuller thoughts tomorrow.
And then quite by coincidence two of Luke Latchman’s co-stars from Spring Awakening were sat opposite me on the tube. A missed opportunity to say something but I’m way too polite too interject (and they were deep in conversation about their current show).

Front circle tonight thanks to a cracking deal at Tkts and the best all-round rendition of this show I have seen yet.Hope Luke gets to carry on with this in London at some point or get the tour.

So, some thoughts from last night show, where a good Stalls seat courtesy of a TodayTix second chance offer,
As I said, I thought Luke Latchman was great as Jamie. Sang the songs the right way, good voice, not always brilliant with the high notes, but came across well. His more restrained performance also allowed the other characters to shine.
It was one of those receptive audiences, often stopping the show to clap. Mostly, this was for Bianca Del Rio, who I must admit I've not followed the career of, other than to know this is a very popular character. And, many of the audience were there just to see Bianca. Not the strongest Hugo, but the Logo part was very good.
Faye as Miss Hedge also did her job well. I have seen Steps live before, so it was a change to see Faye sing live. Decent enough for the role.
Most of the rest of the crew were the regulars.
Momar Diagne (very tall) was on as Sandra Bollock. Marvyn Charles on as Sayid. Adam Taylor was on Levi.
Courtney Bowman did the first half as Fatima, but was replaced by Rachel Price in the second half. No announcement was made, so don't know why.
They'd added a few new visual gags during the show as well, so good to see they're trying to keep things fresh.
Luke is worth seeing as Jamie. He's on for the rest of the week, but his next full week isn't officially until 26-31 August (although the people behind me, who were family friends of his, were convincing those around that he has an extra week which hasn't been announced yet). There are some one nighters when Layton is away as well, although of course Adam may also be on as Jamie and I'd be very keen to see him at some point.

Saw this again last night after first seeing it in a very early preview. Think I enjoyed it more 2nd time around. As a treat for my niece who was visiting for the weekend I got seats in one of the dress circle boxes. Of course, they don't offer the best views but she was very impressed having never sat in a box before. Also our box had 3 seats in it and really should have only had 2 as it was a tight squeeze especially as all of the seats were pretty big. But onto the show. James was played by Luke Latchman on Saturday night and I thought he was excellent. In fact, I preferred him to the original Jamie. Great voice and very likeable character. Ms Tozier also not too shabby. I had never heard of Bianco del Rio but seems like a lot of the audience had, as he got entrance applause and huge applause at the end of his songs. Looked stunning when in drag. Rest of the cast were excellent. Its a real feelgood show and there was a full standing ovation from all 3 levels at the end. Full house also from what I could see.

Saw this for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Layton gave a great performance as Jamie, you could feel the audience were really rooting for him from the beginning. Faye was good as Miss Hedge and Bianca got a huge cheer when she appeared as Loco. She’s not the strongest singer but her performance overall was very enjoyable.
I’ll definitely be making a return visit to see this, I hadn’t expected it to be so funny. I have spent a lot of time in Sheffield and the accents and references really made me smile. Also Dean the bully was very attractive.
