When is Layton contracted until? And does he have holidays dates after August? Layton is contracted until the end of January, and I imagine his holiday dates will be published closer to the dates he is off, shows are very careful about revealing holiday dates these days unless they are huge stars. I suspect that you'd be better off looking at Layton's social media rather than the shows social media itself. |

I see that the documentary that inspired this has another repeat showing on BBC1 next Tuesday (30th) at 11.25pm. Jamie Campbell was also on Celebrity Eating With My Ex on BBC1 last night (turned on purely by chance!) |

Damm! I am going on 1st June. Anyone know what the understudy is like? Luke Latchman. Don't think has anyone has reviewed him yet, although I'm hoping to see him now we know when he's on. He was good in Spring Awakening. |

He's scheduled to be on when I visit in a few days, but I'm secretly hoping something happens (nothing bad, of course) and Luke goes on.
I adored Layton in Rent but I'm finding him annoying lately... I mean, if he's on I have absolutely no problem in seeing him perform! But I do love an unknown understudy!

I saw on twitter she keeps her American accent and it's written into the script that she's amrrican.

I was there last night! There was a lot of applause and cheers when Hugo is first revealed, but when she came out as Loco Chanel she brought the house down! Yes, she keeps her real accent and there's a bit of added dialogue explaining that. I heard someone near me say "why couldn't they have done that for Michelle" haha. I thought she was great, especially for a first performance. Bianca doesn't have the strongest singing voice but I felt like she more than makes up for it in stage presence and humour. I thought Faye did really well as Miss Hedge too, you wouldn't have known it was her first performance. The new cast members I haven't seen yet also were great. I'd only seen Luke Bayer as Jamie before but I really liked Layton.
The most annoying thing, and this should go in the Bad Behaviour thread, was the amount of people using the scene changes/stage black-out to check their phones. So many people were doing it, it's like they forgot the show was still running and the 10 second break to change the scene doesn't happen to be your opportunity to check WhatsApp!

Bianca is incredible. Not the greatest singer, but she's commanding that stage.
Faye is not so good.. And she f*cked up at the beginning of Work Of Art.
And Layton. Stop. Riffing.

I always found John “In this place where we be-he-lo-ho-haw-haw-waw-waw-a-la-ho-hong” McCrae incredibly riffy. I’m yet to see Layton though, hopefully he calms that down before I go again next month. |

I think it's sort of written that Jamie can do lots of riffs in his songs - both John and Layton do plenty (if anything, I think John did more than Layton).

Maybe he was especially riffy tonight. He ruined My Man, Your Boy, which is such a special moment. He wasn't even looking at his mum, he was riffing all the way through it.

^ Last night was their Gala/Press night for the new cast members (Roy & Faye) which might explain that 😊 You’re probably correct that there was an event immediately after the show.

He was Joseph in the Bill Kenwright tour when I was in the Choir back in 2006,i think he returned to play him again several years later, I don't know if he has done any other shows. |
