When Shane Richie played Danny in Grease, there was an accident when he was on stage during a fight, that saw him poked in the eye by one of his gang. He then bravely laughed it off and soldiered on with the show. Well, these things happen in live theatre, so well done him - the audience were relieved he could carry on. Trouble is, comparing notes, it happened every night. Just like the forgotten microphone appears to be happening here. Bad manners, I feel, outside of panto. People always thought that Maureen Nolan genuinely forgot her lines and got the giggles at the start of Act II in Blood Brothers. They'd be like 'Ha, I can't believe I was in when she forgot her lines.'.

Wow. I'm shocked that all of this drama at three different shows is from the same people. They really need to learn. It's about time genuine fans of shows, any shows, started a bit of self policing and told those responsible that their behaviour is not OK. From what I've heard the behaviour at Jamie Stage Door at Cast Change was off the scale of bad behaviour. It seems to be happening more and more at lots of shows. Cast members being friendly on twitter is lulling more and more people into some kind of crazy world that they are friends with them. They're not your friend. Enough is enough!

Love a bit of fan drama.

From the tweets it sounds like some fans have been exaggerating the truth and making out they are friends with the cast and get special experiences such as being invited to cast parties.
That's certainly nothing new in theatre, or any "fandom" (hate that word).
A minority of fans are always desperate to be singled out and be seen as more special and important as a fan than others. What they fail to grasp is that their behaviour makes them appear to the cast as quite the opposite!

I think the bottom line is some fans are thirsty. They may be outcasts or have difficulty connecting in their daily lives, but when they wait at Stage Door, the actors in a way "have to" talk to them, which makes them feel special. And some make up stories in their mind and tell others about parties, etc to make them feel special and better about themselves.
I can say this because back in the day I used to see Chicago at the Adelphi a lot because a) I loved the show and b) I was gay but wasn't comfortable with myself. This gave me a place to go, and I became friends with the other fans who saw the show a lot and it became a sort of family of crazy theater people like myself. I was 15 at the time. Now, I would never see a show like that and don't even stage door, but it was there when I needed it.
Believe me, I think it's nuts but I can see WHY. Instead of casting them off as crazy or obsessed or liars, I think a little compassion is in order because clearly there are other things going on. People don't just lie and make up stories if evreything is going well in their lives.

I think the cast understand aspects of fans feeling like they know them and respect them as such, giving them hugs, chatting etc. They are used to that. It's been happening at Jamie since the beginning and from what I've understood the cast love chatting to fans of the show. I think, for Jordan to call out somebody, they must of really crossed a line or upset him, fans or other cast members. I don't think he would just do that unless there was a valid reason.

I've just seen a tweet saying the dance during "If I Met Myself Again" is gone from the show now, it wasn't in tonight.

Okay I stalked the twitter thread and there's a theory that the new covers/swings just aren't feeling it 100% and Emily wasn't on today. That's my truth and I'm sticking to it! (I want it there! I know a lot of people hate it but I really really love it!)

That choreo felt amateurish when I saw it live. Didn't bother me at the filmed performance though.

The dance was still there Monday and Tuesday. Must have been a sudden change.

I love that dance and I really think that it adds so much to the number. I also think it’s a beautiful song but not one of my favorites.

Personally I don’t care for that dance much, I can see why people like it but I can take it or leave it. Surely if they were going to cut it completely they would have done so at the beginning of this casts contract? To me it does read as if illness and swings being underprepared is more likely to be the reasoning (for last night at least)

I think the dance works in theory, but it's it's a bit of a cliche, TBH. When I first saw it I thought of course they'll have this interpretive lyrical dancing bit.

Hated that dance. Naff AF.
As for the crazies, as I’ve said elsewhere, just ban the stage door for shows like this. I know it spoils it for the 90% who behave but you can’t expect things to change if you just keep feeding these people the attention they’re after. In fact it will get worse.
Every time there’s an incident, no stage door for a week, then next time a month etc. Big poster saying “NO STAGEDOOR UNTIL XX/XX/XX DUE TO FANS WHO DONT KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE”.
Don’t these kids have college to go to anyway? Plesse don’t tell me they’re adults...

Last year there were also problems with fans. There was a long thread on twitter from a mother who said her daughter was getting bullied by some other fans. I know the theatre had contacted her to ask her to come in so they could try and sort it. Can't find the thread now but wonder if this is still rumbling on or a totally different incident?

I know what you mean but most fans will just go once or infrequently and that will means they could miss out if they happen to be going in that time frame. They should just say to those involved, and they know who are involved, that they cannot stage door. The majority should not have to suffer due to the minority. Also security on the stage door to keep the performers safe, it happens at Wicked now.

After my Les Miserables performance (almost) next door, I made a point of checking out the Apollo stage door. There is now one of those yellow concertina barriers and a member of staff keeping an eye on things.
Once he'd signed autographs and posed for selfies, young Layton still walked off into Soho unaccompanied, though.

Sources tell me that it’s the same group from Heathers who have caused this.

As numerous people both here and on social media have mentioned, there are only so many times you can: - Accidentally get on the same train as an actor/actress
- Accidentally attend the same event as an actor/actress
- Accidentally end up eating at the same place as an actor/actress
- Accidentally wear the same cloths as an actor/actress
- Accidentally buy the same nebulizer as an actor/actress All this on top of: - Making inappropriate sexual and threatening comments about an actor/actresses partner. (I mean if they ever get Jodie Steels fella or Alex James Hatton's Missus alone they are in trouble. I mean some of their comments go way past joking, You don't talk like that about someone.)
- Traveling to a different country to see that actor/actress perform (doing so for a once off gig or if it’s the first venue of a new tour or if it is foreign residency/tour is absolutely perfect but doing so when the same tour has numerous UK dates and the date you are going to is not the first venue..... is a little creepy)
- Guilt tripping actors/actresses into allowing you attend events you really have no right in attending (if you tell someone you have no where to go and it’s in and around zero degrees outside then of course they are going to invite you to cast drinks/dinner)
- Following the family members of an actor/actress on social media
- Face Timing actors/actress without any prior warning (foolish of the actress in question to give that info to a fan)
- Actively lying & discouraging people from day seating so you can have all the seats
- Being verbally abusive at stage door to other fans
- And most worryingly, calling an actor/actress your "Friend"
All of these examples lend me to make the assumption these girls are getting way out of hand. I would even go as far as saying possibly putting the safety of some of these actors/actresses at risk. I think it’s also important to make the point that there is obviously something going on in these girls lives as this is not normal behavior.

Supporting someone at shows and stage door is one thing but following them elsewhere i.e. when they are not at their place of work crosses the line into stalking!
