Monkey & BB - do you two know each other, like, in real life? 'Cos you remind me of George and Mildred. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Mr Monkey just yet Tibs, but it's a matter of time. He can't avoid me forever!

Loved this - terrific cast, great songs and superbly staged. Really hope this can survive beyond the Crucible. Instant standing ovation from virtually the whole audience. Would say it was about 4/5 full, all ages.

Am thinking of going this weekend never been before any tips on best seats etc parking ? And am I right in thinking it's all one price for tickets ? Are there any discounts ? Thanks There isn't a bad seat at the Crucible but centre is always going to be better even if you're further back. The rake is very steep so even the back row is not that far from the stage. The multi storey car park underneath the theatre is by far the most convenient but its hideously expensive which is probably why the theatre recommends a different one on their website. Thanks for the advice a man going yay can't wait love to see new shows managed to get row L quite close to centre .... noticed tickets have gone up on the website for sat ? .... noticed parking very expensive never been to Sheffield think I'll look for the council £4 car park lol

I wish they'd make the CD available to buy online. I don't like downloads and can't get to Sheffield in time. Grrrrrr.
(I wouldn't listen to it, of course.)

If you park in the Q Carpark just off Arundel Gate, it's cheaper and then ask for a voucher from the Crucible, your first hour is free. It's only a short walk from there to The Crucible. It's always more expensive on Friday and Saturday (that's why I always go midweek ;-) ) Enjoy.

I saw it yesterday at the matinee and really enjoyed it. There isn't much of a story really, but the acting, singing and dancing are so good and I had a tear in my eye on more than one occasion. As far as I recall, there were only three 'local' references, which could be altered if it went to London or on a tour. Having said that, Billy Elliot did ok with regional accents.

So desperate to see this but train fare from london is £80! Just can't justify it. Anyone heard any rumblings on transfers?

Saw this the other night.......it's fresh, honest, full of heart, very funny. It's not just a coming out story, it's about family, childhood, prejudice, acceptance and love. It was a full house and received an instant and full standing ovation on the final chord. Music was very fresh and catchy. Choreography was fun and wonderfully witty. The acting from everyone was terrific. Yes, there are a few local references to Sheffield but nothing that anyone with half a degree of intelligence wouldn't be able to piece together. Direction, Set and Sound also terrific. Would be unfair to pick out performers as everyone was brilliant. I think back to some of the dross currently on the London stage and think this should definitely make it in....a contemporary Billy Eliott

It was the other subjects you mention that engaged me as much as Jamie's story.

Interval time: Fantastic performances by all so far and a great audience to match. Looking forward to act 2.
This show definitely deserves a life outside Sheffield, so rare to see the Crucible sell out like this

Saw the show this afternoon and I loved it! The guy playing Jamie blew me away but the whole cast were really strong. This deserves a longer life, I'd love to see it again.

I caught this last weekend, thought it was one of the best things weve seen on stage for a long time. Great songs, choreography and set. Dan Gillespie sells was signing CD and programs in the foyer after the show. Cheekily asked if there they had plans for the show after Sheffield. His response was he hoped so...

Act two was also great and there was another full standing ovation from the entire audience at the end of the finale. Having seen the first preview of this, I particularly liked the reworked finale and felt the show finished with much more energy as a result. Spotted the real Jamie in the audience this evening too.
All in all, a great night and a great show. Really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this show!

Just on my way home 130 miles drive but so so worth it totally agree with the last few posts . So much heart and soul in this show . And a good old fashioned every person rose at once ovation at the end ..... I felt I would have liked a better song for the drag queens and seen them a little more .. be who you wanna be ala k boots type song maybe ? He's my boy Josie surely can belt out those notes ... was moved to tears a couple of times ... really deserved a much longer life .... great set too I thought simple but clever ..... fingers crossed for a tour
