I saw this a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
Truth be known I had no interest in seeing it however I went with a friend who knew the female lead, Cassidy Jacobs I believe.
Again, It's surprising how many songs she's written.
The guys who played Neil Sedaka and The Righteous Brothers were quite amusing.
I was particularly impressed by the accents and in fact when we met the lead after the show I commented on this.
We had an incident about three quarters through the second act where they had to sop the show and the safety curtain came down for about 10 minutes. We were in the Dress Circle, so unable to see into the stalls and assumed something had happened to one of the actors. We we asked her what happened she said they'd assumed something happened on our end and was later told that an audience member who was hypoglycaemic had a seizure and had to be taken out.

Who on earth is Cassidy Jacobs? Or Cassady... Poor girl, name being mangled with every post. I saw this a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The Broadway production has celebrated 1000 performances this week since its premiere and it is still performing strong at the box office! Is it still doing well over here?

...1000 performances this week... And to think some celebrities struggle to do eight.

I'm off to see Carole King at Hyde Park this evening and judging by some tweets it looks like the cast or at least CJ will be joining her on stage. Fantastic bit of promotion for the show.

Yes that is great publicity for the show!! I think box office isn't doing that well now so they're probably trying to boost it?

I've seen the odd offer around, how's this doing at the box office? I've seen it a few times with this cast - it's been 90-95% full every time. I'm not saying it's like that every night, but I don't think it's struggling as much as some people would have you believe.

Finals for the next cast change are this week, not sure how long the contract is for, though!

I have a friend on the show and it isn't struggling. I do wish there were more offers as I usually have to get my friend to get a ticket for me

I honestly thought that this wasn't doing well at the box office at all.
What other shows in London aren't doing well at box office now then? I know HTOHL and Guys & Dolls aren't doing that well

I know HTOHL and Guys & Dolls aren't doing that well Rebel being cast has help Guys & Dolls bow out respectfully. Still no sell out, but there has been more of a boost had she not joined.

Overheard that she only put an extra 6% in the box office, if the two ushers chatting (indiscreetly) last weekend were accurate. I've had a look at a few seating plans recently and I didn't think it was too bad. I know there were some pretty empty performances a few months ago, but was it really always that empty?

I honestly thought that this wasn't doing well at the box office at all. Most folk on here had it closing before it had even opened, so don't be to hard on yourself.

I honestly thought that this wasn't doing well at the box office at all. Me too, George - I had an offer come through on email for it the other day. It was good enough for me to actually think about booking this time (usually the price drop is negligible for this show, so I ignore the offers!). So I assumed it must be suffering a bit in terms of sales.

Sometimes an extension is a last-ditch attempt though - hoping that enough people will want to book all the way into next summer to boost the coffers of the more immediate future. The length of this extension combined with a cursory read of the last few posts, I wouldn't assume that it's necessarily a good sign at all.

I think to extend by a whole year is a very bold move which is either a sign of arrogance (thinking they'll sell easily) or they actually have got the advance to extend that far ahead. The WoS article says "Beautiful runs at the Aldwych until 22nd July 2017" so maybe it closes then? Might just be me being sceptical. An extension doesn't necessarily mean it will last until then though

They haven't extended by a year, just five months. Even the combined booking period (pre and post extension) doesn't amount to twelve months.
Given there's little actual evidence that Beautiful is struggling, and with a cast change imminent in November, perhaps this is an extension that could just be taken at face value? It's hardly like they've extended for a ridiculous amount of time into the future (eg early 2018).

Is there any actual reason to think it's struggling though? It's a great show (literally the only jukebox musical I've enjoyed ever) and I had thought that it was still selling really well.

As I've already said, it's always been close to full when I've gone, so I fail to see why people think this is struggling.
