Would the box office allow a swap of tickets? If I turn up at the box office with a ticket for a later date and said "could I swap this for a ticket for tonight?" would they do this, seeing as it's probably easier for them to shift a ticket for a later date than one for the same evening at short notice? I rang them to change a ticket and it is easy if the ticket you want is the same price or higher and then I payed a £2 fee. Not sure about going directly there but you will probably be the same.

If you originally booked direct with Delfont Mackintosh then I think you will be able to do this. I've certainly turned up and swapped tickets in person which I've booked online, for a small fee.

Yes, I did that this morning by email and got it sorted (also for a £2 fee), so lovely of them.
Now I just have to try and sell a daft £10 ticket in the grand circle slips...

Too late for you now, but they might have taken the two tickets back and let you use the credit against one higher value ticket. Managed to do that once at (I think) a Delfont Mackintosh box office.

Oh, I might have expressed myself badly... I had one full price ticket for £69 in the front stalls for a later date in August, then decided to see another show that day and Inishmore during an earlier London weekend in late July. I didn't want to spend another £69, so I booked a cheap £10 Grand Circle slip seat instead. Only THEN did it occur to me that I might be able to swap the £69 seat, which I duly did, so I'm once more in the front stalls. But I still have that cheap seat I booked in my hurry because sometimes I just don't think straight, calmly or rationally.
I am going to put an ad up in the notice board section of the forum for both this and another ticket I now need to shift, but in case someone is interested: I got a grand circle slip seat AA21 at £10 going spare for Friday 27th July now...

I was in row B last night and have to say it’s the best tenner I’ve spent in a long time. Thanks again to raiseitup

I saw this last night and had a ball. Very funny stuff indeed and relied heavily on the comedy. Thought the cast were great across the board.
I can also now confirm the gunshots are not loud but actually were very well done with some "special effects" to make them realistic.
Wouldn't see this if you love cats...
A solid 4* production for me!
On a side note: I payed £10 for H8 in the back row of the Royal Circle. This is probably the best deal I have ever had in a theatre. The view is completely unrestricted, seat comfortable enough and the legroom was fine. The overhang didn't affect the view at all and I felt close to the stage. Can anyone comment on these seats being so cheap? Is it just because of the MGC £10 ticket deals or are they always such a bargain?

Saw this at today’s matinee and absolutely loved this from start to finish. Some really dark comedy that is right up my street. Sitting in H14 in the Royal circle, for £10 it was an absolute bargain and great view. The Aidan Turner fan club was out in force today and he got a few cheers when he first appeared.
I didn’t think you could make terrorism as a subject funny, but the writing managed to do this easily with myself and the rest of the audience in histerics for the entire 2 hrs. The whole cast were great and AT himself has really great comic timing. After watching the Lehman Triology last night, this was what was definitely needed to end by London trip on a high.
If you haven’t already booked, I can definitely recommend this as a fun night out.

I also enjoyed this a lot. My £10 seat in Stalls row B was a steal. Thanks again to raiseitup from letting us know about this wonderful bargain!

I’m surprised they didn’t stop the show.

Missed you again. Just coming home after evening performance. Yes tm is right. The audience does need time to work it out and so enjoy as it were how it unfolds. I saw the original production and remember being much more shocked by the satire against the Irish terrorists. Different times. The comic writing hadn’t dated but the fear has gone so the shock has diminished.

Saw it this afternoon (Hi lurking person I sat next to, please de-lurk). A bit dated (though the mention of Louise Lombard stirred happy memories, moving on). Second half far stronger than the first. More interesting the more I thought about it afterwards. While watching, I thought it should be played at farcical speed. Only afterwards did I realise how much time the audience needed to dig up the satire and truths inherent in each scene. Will rant a bit more on my site next week, but for now, it's worth seeing. The £10 seats are a bargain (was in row U, short folk in front, all good). Avoid K in the stalls though, low stage and no off-set is a real problem. Readers moaned and I checked - they were right. I was that lurker, and it was a great pleasure to talk with you yesterday. Meeting you has got me reflecting on the role this board plays in my life, even though I very rarely post here. As a solo theatre goer who comes in on the Megabus from Bristol one or two Saturdays a month, this board has reasurred me that this isn't completely unique odd-bod behaviour. Much as at parties, I'm far more comfortable sitting back and hearing what other far more interesting and amusing posters have to say than offering up any of my asinine thoughts or opinions. For example, I loved reading about emicardiff's AiA 'journey' last year, and a far greater number of Steve's beautifully written reviews have prompted me to book tickets than those of Billington and his gang. I must admit that I obsessively come on here to check for new posts whenever I have a spare minute at work, which has resulted in a great number of you becoming quite vivid characters to me, despite me not actively engaging myself. So it was with a frisson of excitement that I saw the magnificent figure of actual real-life Ryan browsing in the NT bookshop a few weeks back, having (I think) previously seen him cut a dash through the thronged ranks of moneyed retirees at Hampstead last year. I can also recall the nervous excitement of the time I convinced myself that THE Parsley was sat behind me at the Young Vic a few years back (although this gentleman stayed the full course of the show, so it might have been a false alarm). It was, therefore, genuinely lovely to chat to TM yesterday, someone who plays such a central role in keeping this lovely board running. So, yes, I admit that I should maybe post more often than a few times a year, but I just wanted to put down some ramblings about how much this place brings to this particular lurkers life. May it continue to inform, entertain, and frustrate in equal measure! Oh, and to get back on topic, I really enjoyed the play 🙂.

I have never sat in the balcony, but the back row of the Dress and Royal have been amazing both times I've sat there. Me and daniel can both vouch that the back row of the Stalls is good, year if someone sits in front of you you're screwed as the seat is literally directly behind the person in front. With Dan over 6ft and me just under, we had to get booster seats.

Really enjoyed this the other evening. Thanks again to raiseitup for the row B for a tenner tip - an absolute bargain! Packed house - obviously for Aiden Turner but also I suspect due to word of mouth as the audience really seemed to have enjoyed it on the way out. I thought it was very funny - the humour suited to my black sense of humour, and the scathing view from the author regarding terrorists. I thought it was very well staged with great special effects, which elicited delighted gasps from the audience. The stage management must have a very busy time! A very succinct 1.50 hour running time including interval too - so out by 9.20pm. It made a pleasant change from sitting through 3 hour marathon plays to be honest!

if someone sits in front of you you're screwed as the seat is literally directly behind the person in front. Which goes for absolutely any seat in the entire West End except the front row and a few boxes, of course. For this, rows U and V are off-set in such a way as to give a diagonal line of view, which is good. They also appeared to have newer padding than usual and were higher, which was nice too. Having sat there, I disagree. Alot of theatres have you situated between the two seats in front to give you a view almost between shoulders. This was not the case here. They are literally right in front of you, head in front of your face, I could not see even a remote part of the stage and being 5'10, thats clearly an issue for anyone shorter than that. It's pretty much a listening only position unless you get a booster seat. I'd recommend, if anyone wants cheaper seats, go for the Dress or Royal back row.

One or two end of rows are wider than rows in front. I usually go for those, leg room and no threat from tall people.

Anyone know what the exchange policy is? Have a ticket for tonight but was hoping to try and exchange for a later date. Booked through DMT. (Understand have probably left it a bit late!)

You might be out of luck, they will exchange tickets for a small fee, but they do ask for 48 hours notice. You can always call them and ask anyway, they might make an exception if you ask nicely enough, but they're well within their own posted rights to just say "too bad, so sad".
