Baz reports Aidan Turner will take the lead in Martin McDonagh revival directed by Michael Grandage. I remember loving it at the Garrick in 2002. Think someone in the "A Very Very Very Dark Matter" thread was hoping for a revival of this so they will be happy at this news!

I was going to say, didn't they do that in 2013 but remembered that was The Cripple of Inishmaan! 2018 looks like a good year for Martin McDonagh and I suspect Aidan Turner will draw in an audience although I don't think he's done stage work at least not for a while. I wonder if that The Pillowman revival that was mooted will come into fruition? |

According to Baz, Turner doesn't seem to have been on the London stage since 2005, a Barbican transfer of an Abbey Theatre production. I've been wanting to see this play for years but I can't say I'm enthused about this casting. Still, maybe he'll surprise me...

I'm one of the lorra lorra ladies who quite likes the dashing Mr Turner in Poldark (although I'd actually prefer Dr Enys, looks-wise). But I won't be one of the lorra lorra ladies who'll be disappointed, because I also love me some Martin MacDonagh and I've been waiting for this play to be revived for years. I'm not squeamish. I don't mind a good gore fest on stage. So bring it on. Sitting here with my hand on the mouse, waiting for 11am. *foottap* |

It's been a while since I read the playtext, but I'm pretty sure "hella" is a good description for the quantity of blood involved. Yeah, reading a plot synopsis my friend has deemed it too faint-worthy. |
