Might be wrong but I’m sure I also read somewhere that the people who own or operate (can’t remember which) the Arts are also producers on the show. I’m sure they know that they’re not going to get another hit like Six into the Arts any time soon, so in addition to all of the points already raised against a transfer, keeping their own venue busy will be a huge factor.
Of course I may have just made all of that up 🤷🏻♂️

^Teen fangirls and boys could be lost in bigger theatres than the Arts eh? Not personally heard of dozens of young people going missing at Hamilton,DEH etc...perhaps to be safe theatres should provide a map, compass, whistle and flares for anyone who looks under 20...lol

It's sold out for a month in a small theatre. Put into one even twice the size - the "Duke of York's" say, it probably wouldn't fill it every day. Worse, they'd be battling far higher ticket prices to cover costs, meaning the young fanbase wouldn't be able to afford to come so often. Scaling up, they'd probably be gone in 6 months. Put another way, on Broadway there was a little musical called "The Fantasticks" which managed 42 years in an Off-Broadway venue and suffered not a jot from it. This is the same model and I like it. I'm sure you're right, I don't really know about the cost of such things. I don't even hate the Arts (apart from those dire toilets) and it works perfectly well in there. I guess it closing would be even worse for all involved so I guess I'll just shut up now lol

I wonder if "Six" may look to move to the Criterion with the closing of Bank Robbery. Same producers I believe. An extra 230 seats a night shouldn't be difficult to shift...

I'm intrigued. I love Spice Girls (but I don't know if their style has a place in musical theatre!) I find comedy very subjective though - what style of comedy? If it's very British then that's a good start (for me!) It’s basically the girls bickering about which of them was the most hard done by wife. There’s no plot, it’s a scripted concert not a musical, basically six performances giving each wife’s point of view with a bit of filler. I found it monotonous to be honest, despite it being so short. But I’m literally the only person in the world who didn’t like it that much so based on statistics alone the chances are that you’ll love it. 🙂 have you booked?

I was just about to say i don't understand why it's not moved there. It's the same producers so they obviously knew it was closing yet announced at extension for Six at The Arts. It seems such an obvious move for them to pass up on. Weird.

It’s possible that the Criterion has already lined up the next show.

Why change a winning formula? SIX is selling out at the Arts and managed to spread around the world from that 350-seat theater. There's absolutely no need to move it.

Is Alexia back in the show? Yes, her first show back was the same day as Sophie’s debut.

I love her the most, by miles. As far as I know, she's signed up for another year (from whenever the first year was up) I screenshottd this from an instagram live ages ago, and I can't believe how often it's been appropriate to post to my Six-friend in text chats.

Damn, it won't let me attach a photo. What am I missing?
Just imagine Alexia Macintosh's face, with her eyes all poppy.

You are literally the only person I've heard say a bad word about it. But don't worry once it opens on Broadway there will be plenty of Yanks ripping it apart. They love nothing more than tearing British made hits to shreds x

Some of the songs are REALLY really good and fits the story perfectly but yes it's a bit monotonous. It is just a very short concert with a very contrived back story. Also when I went there were lots of understudies and I didn't like that their costumes weren't as elaborate as the main ones. I don't regret for a second I went but happy that I only paid £19.50 and I have no desire to see it again.

Depends on where you're sat, due to there only being one door and a small foyer it can take up to 10 minutes to get out of the Arts. But with a decent aisle-ish seat and a few "excuse me" thrown in its certainly possibly seeing as DEH is 5 buildings across the road.

I would say if you left your seat when the 'Six' song is finished and watched the 'mega-six' encore from the back of the venue you'd make it in time, as the theatre is just a 3 minute walk away. It's getting out of that theatre that takes the time in that place. But yes you would definitely make it unless it starts late x

Really useful. Better than people just saying "it's fun", "it's great". "it's original"
Still very much on the fence, based on your description. There are MANY popular shows where I seemed to be the only one that didn't love it. (Book Of Mormon and Once spring to mind)
