Are the rush/cheaper tickets at the back? Was basically the back 4/5 rows that were on a different planet to the rest of the theatre. Rush tickets are six seats in the third row.

Needs knocking down and starting again. They keep trying, but it all goes wrong at the last minute. Should have happened years ago. I think it’s need an operator like Trafalgar or ATG to buy it in order to proceed with redevelopment

Given that Scrawny little SiX obsessives, calling themselves fans, greedily cheating their way to beat other genuine potential theatre goers in the TodayTix rush cheat* seem to actually have a positive rappour with the cast etc, I'm starting to consider this less a piece of Musical Theatre and more an elitist pop concert for sheltered individuals. *which involves changing the phone/device time to trick TT into allowing a step forward in the rush process. Do TodayTix know about this, and trying to fix it? Disgraceful and completely unfair.

How would they change and redevelop the theatre? Isn’t it in quite a small property?

How would they change and redevelop the theatre? Isn’t it in quite a small property? I’ve seen the plans a while back. They wanted to basically completely gut the entire place and refurbish if from a grotty fringey student theatre to something more grand and glam. On another note. Who thinks with the success of this SIX will move out to a bigger theatre? After Broadway I think it might do this next summer?

I think they would shoot themselves in the foot by moving to a bigger theatre. It's selling very well, but it's not that difficult to get tickets when you are prepared to book 2-3 months ahead. If it moved to a bigger West End theatre, they would incur higher costs, but I don't think it would automatically sell out and offset these costs. I haven't actuall seen it (yet), but based on what I know from the show and having been inside the Arts Theatre, I think the intimacy there is perfectly suited to this kind of show and contributes to a special atmosphere (which, I think, makes fans want to return again and again).
I really hope they have the sense to keep it the little cult hit it has become and not try to milk it for what it's worth. Personally I think the Broadway move is suicidal. Not just moving to a much bigger theatre, but also offering a flimsy 75-minute concert-like show at Broadway prices. This has already killed so many inventive new shows that moved from Off-Broadway.

You obviously haven’t seen Six. It is not a flimsy concert show. Xanadu and Come From Away are are short one act shows (yes I know slightly longer) but the fact is you feel satisfied after watching and that’s all that matters.

^ It’s funny that you keep comparing Six to CFA. The difference here though is that CFA is a musical with a plot and multirole played in the best form I’ve personally ever seen. There’s no denying that Six is great fun, but it’s essentially six girls parodying Tudor history behind mic stands, most people spending more than £35 on a ticket will feel robbed.

I just don’t think they market it quite as honestly as they could. The Queens surnames and ‘Live in concert’ doesn’t really give somebody NEW to the concept of this NEW piece of theatre much idea what its going to be. In the west end it isn’t marketed any differently to other musicals when it is in fact something quite unique.

I really hope this doesn't move to a bigger theatre. It would really lessen it's run I think, the way it's going currently I could see it staying a nice few years as a cult WE show.
Would be fun to see this show in an arena, or concert hall, but doubt it will happen soon.

Enjoyed this but at 35 quid. Totally think it would be an absolute nonsense to charge Broadway prices for it though.
(And also agree if they shoved it into somewhere like the Adelphi over here we’d soon discover it isn’t nearly as popular as people think).
That said I also think Come From Away should be cheaper. Shorter, small cast, simple staging. Hardly has the overheads of Bat Out Of Hell for example, which was in fact much cheaper! (I do appreciate this isn’t how it works though....)
Remember paying full whack back in the day for Tell Me On A Sunday at The Gielgud. One act and they only had two cast members to pay! Fair enough one of them was DVO but it’s hardly Madonna!

If the show is selling out or getting near to most nights then moving to a bigger theatre is a no brainer IMO.
There would be bigger overheads but with a 9/10 person ensemble including the understudies/alternates and 4 musicians there isn't a big company and going even to a 500 to 600 capacity theatre would give a load of extra tickets. They could even go to the normal 8 show per week run and still have over 1,000 extra seats per week available.

As tempting as is to move to be a bigger theatre, it’s not necessary, Phantom has running for in the same theatre for 33 years and while ALW and Cameron were tempted to move it to the Palladium, they realised it would shorten the life of the show, that also applies to other long runners like Book of Mormon and Matilda which opted for theatres with smaller capacities and are still running today.

It could probably have a healthy run in a 500-600 seat theatre (ie. one which is a little bit bigger than the Arts) - but it becomes a risk above that IMO. To be honest, the only reason I can see it moving is if they need to do some work to the Arts theatre.

Most of the 500-600 seaters are either in high demand or already have long runners which makes it more difficult to justify a move.

Just received this email from TodayTix:
We are writing to you to make you aware of recent changes made to our terms and conditions in relation to the SIX Rush scheme at TodayTix. Please see the relevant changes below. No user may purchase more than two rush tickets for SIX in any 30 consecutive days. A "user" is defined as an individual, even if individual is operating multiple TodayTix accounts. This may include accounts with identical names, email addresses, pick-up names, phone numbers or postcodes. Any users found to have purchased more than this limit may have their order cancelled at the sole discretion of TodayTix.

Looks like they’re also enforcing photo ID checks, so that’ll stop the actors getting the kids to buy them tickets.

Haha, loads of people on Twitter sulking about this!I mean, I love SiX and would be happy to go maybe once a fortnight if I could, but realistically once a month is often enough to see any favourite show (unless it's closing soon)

Luckily SIX isn't THAT show for me but I would be gutted if they implement this rule for all of the other shows.

Good on ‘em. TT could have done nothing, (despite Burleys worry of libel action 😂) but have seen the brazen abuse of what is actually a good service that they are under no obligation to provide. The crazies have shot themselves in the foot with their inane twitter chatter and ‘oneupmanship’ and will no doubt be bemoaning and bitching about it somewhere right now. Sales might increase even further now that they have to pay a fuller price!

Yes that's true, I was only thinking from my own situation of having lived in London all my life! But I assume for most shows that have rush, you'd be lucky to get them twice in one week anyway (if you were trying in the normal way and not using a cheat method)

Actually just looking at my diary I realized I AM going to see SiX 3 times in the next 2 weeks. Not rush though (I have tried for rush before, but never succeeded)
