Looks like they're doing 9 or 10 show weeks in Salford. My heart is already cringing for the alternates, I hope we don't have another Glasgow

The fact that they have announced the Theatre Royal in Glasgow concerns me. It holds 1541 and they couldn’t even sell out the SECC last Dec which only hold a couple of hundred. One performance I went to there was barely 100 people there.

I also had quite an empty show at the SEC. Ushers were upgrading people’s tickets to further forward as they entered and it was a Saturday matinee,

There's a long gap between Bath in February and Southampton in July 2020.
Further UK dates to be announced, or is the tour going overseas? (If it's the latter and I've missed it, I apologise.)

The Instagram story they posted said "UK Tour Part 1" and the video had "Further dates to be announced" Hoping for something up north, Edinburgh and Salford are too far for a casual trip to see a 75 minute musical. |

I would love to see it in the Birmingham Rep, but I fear they'll go for the Alexandra or Hippodrome and get swallowed.

For Yorkshire I’m thinking they may do either Leeds Grand or Sheffield Lyceum, or both.
As for the North East, Newcastle Theatre Royal seems most likely, or even the Tyne Theatre.

The Wales Millennium Centre is similar to the Mayflower so will be a huge venue to fill compared to the New Theatre that would traditionally take a show of this size, or even the more regional Sherman Theatre.
It’s only there for 5 days so I think they’ve probably reached a sensible balance of a big venue for a limited run. This will have a low cost base so if they can fill half the WMC that’s the same as a sell out of the New Theatre so anything above that is a bonus! Atmosphere might be different if it’s only half full but financially seems a low risk strategy....

Edinburgh went on sale yesterday (1,900 seats). Upper circle is closed (as usual for smaller-scale shows at the Festival Theatre), dress circle fairly empty so far, but stalls looks about half filled so far, for all performances.
I feel quite bad for the cast. They have a 6.30pm show on Friday, and then another one at 8pm up here.

They do have a good hour between shows in London, this gives them half an hour less, so only 45 minutes.

The actresses playing Cleves and Parr are my favourites in that cast based on that video.
It really threw me at the start when they said “Chicago” instead of “London”
Sam looks remarkably similar to Aimie I think. Maybe it’s the pink hair?

Is it just me that thinks it sounds a bit ...lacking? The Megasix is my favourite song of the show but that video seems a bit lacklustre. Maybe I'm judging too early!

Interesting that they’re using American accents The modern English accent as we understand it didn't come about until after America started to draw away from Britain in the 1700s, so there's no real reason to insist on it for a show that isn't exactly naturalistic. |

As an American, we can very easily butcher a British accent. Maybe they will work on it for future productions and performances.
