I think the producers will be hoping that this time next year we’ll be millionaires if this sells well otherwise they will look like right plonkers.
Hopefully theatre-goers will play it cool around the wine bar.

The tickets had better be 40% cheaper than usual, reflecting that they will be paying no income tax, no VAT. On the other hand, bet there will be people moaning when they find out there's no money back and no guarantee either... Aren’t all theatre tickets (bar the National, Hamilton and few others) already sold with no money back? And they all stipulate no guarantee of a certain cast. So we’re halfway there already.

It just struck me that this would’ve been really amusing in Drury Lane because of the opera episode, it wouldn’t do well there at all I don’t think but the ideas pleasing

Rather than the TRH, wouldn't it be better over the road at Her Majesty's? It's already got the mechanism in place for a falling chandelier.

Or maybe the Palace since Del Boy and Rodney walk past it in the 2001 special...?

Is it too early to start dream casting this?? Never! I'll kick off. Marc Warren as Mickey Pearce. Dame Keeley as Marlene.

Does anyone really want to see this without David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst etc?

Does anyone really want to see this without David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst etc? This is a fair point - a lot of the reason I still love the show to this day is the cast, they’re gonna have to really nail the casting for this for the fans to love it

It will be interesting to see what era they pitch the show in, will it be just the Three Trotters in the flat - option of Granddad or Uncle Albert or will they have Raquel and Cassandra in it too?
I'd figure they'd do the latter as Raquel and Cassandra became well known characters.
Boycie, Marlene and Trigger would be main supports plus Mickey, Denzil and Mike as named characters. Taking it beyond those named characters would stretch it a bit too much but there will obviously be other ensemble support.

With regards to casting , I know DJ and NL is probably dream casting to reprise their roles, but how about getting the actors who play Boyce and Marlene so at least you’ve got some of the original cast?

I wouldn't be surprised if the usual UK comedians who also dabble in theatre would go up for this.
Producers love a name, so if none of the original members are there, they might go for people like Lee Mack or Jason Manford as Del, Tom Rosenthal or Blake Harrison as Rodney, as Rhod Gilbert or Mickey Flanagan as Trigger, or even John Bishop for Boycie,
Basically, everyone I can't stand.

Am I the only one who thinks Charlie Stemp would make a great Rodney?

The reason this was so successful was because of the sublime original cast. The thought of a musical version with anyone else in these iconic roles seems doomed. It appeals to a generation that will remember the originals so well.
The thought of some of the "names" that would take on these roles makes me shudder. I won't name names but you all know who they are......

Now we just need Will Young to sign up as Del-Boy and Matt Cardle to come on board as Grandpa.
