Interesting update: according to some of the cast’s comments on social media, they were already told they were planning on extending to October - so the announcement of them closing in April came as a shock to them all

For anyone else interested, the back row (H) of the Dress Circle is OLT sale priced at some Mon / Tues performances for £20 per seat. Full price later in the same weeks is between £77 and £97. Seems a particularly good discount with no apparent restriction on view. A great view from there to see all the fights in the audience too! No fights or incidents to my very slight disappointment but it was interesting being at the back when I'm usually front row stalls. Plenty of people looked at their mobile phones regularly and I occasionally heard a beep as a message alert. A chap two rows in front was texting frequently. Also the number who needed the toilet (presumably) and had to disturb others in their row. I sympathise with the weak-bladdered of course but there were three I noticed leave their seats and return within the first half hour.

Guessing that Les Dennis will play Grandad on the tour Just listened to Kathy Burkes ‘Where There’s a Will, There’s A Wake’ podcast where her guest was Paul Whitehouse and he mentioned this going on tour next year, so either he is planning on doing the whole tour or sharing the Grandad duties with Les Dennis

Also I just discovered that the Theatre is going to be running The Tiger Who Came To Tea twice daily from July to September, which I suppose is when the next show will come in. I am BAFFLED because the cast had been initially told October was their closing, so the April announcement seemed to be to make room for a show coming in much sooner than that. So for it to be Tiger up to September is such a slap in the face to the cast of this show when they could have just closed it in September (or even August if it needed a refit)

They have left space for Wednesday and Saturday matinées and all evenings at 7.30.

That’ll teach me for posting when overtired 🤦♀️ I am still quite surprised there’s been zero announcement and no real rumours about what’s going in next though

Fantastic final show in Saturday evening - loved every second of it! One last bonjour to see it off - it'll do very well on tour.

Have it on reasonable authority that this might pop up at a London venue for a short run over Christmas...

Oh I read the year wrong - sorry I'd seen Hammersmith Apollo from 17th Dec but assumed that was this year, not next.

Booked a box in Sunderland to take the parents, they've been asking when this was touring since it opened in London.

Thanks - "website coming soon"! I was one of the few who really enjoyed this daft retro show! You definitely weren’t the only one, considering it ran for 4 years - also I was part of the devoted regular attendees who are all excited for the tour

Delighted with this news as my trip to see it on Christmas Eve didn’t happen when it was cancelled due to train strikes
Trouble is I now have to wait till June 2025 to see it in Belfast
