Just got a last minute front row seat for tonight! Is there any 'audience participation'?! I'll be on my own and hate that  Not really just the lead during the second song talks briefly to the front of the audience. Thanks! Wished I hadn't bothered though - utterly dreadful |

Looks like a bargain at £155.55, with no hidden fees.
As well as the buffet, you get 3 drinks at the bar (so you won't notice how bad the show is), a souvenir programme, access to the front row seats and a selfie with some of the understudies (you could get upgraded if a cast member who is on that day is around and in costume two hours early, but Ticketmaster actually mentions understudies - at least it gives them something to do).
Probably not actually a bad deal if you'd be buying premium tickets anyway. Hope some TB members report back soon about what the experience was like and what's included in the buffet.

Clicked on the link for a random day and there were seats in stalls row E (fair enough) then the back of stalls row S and T. Then the very back of the circle. Hardly premium seats.

No disrespect to the understudies of this show at all, but I can't imagine the people who are going to see OFAH are gonna be that excited about having a selfie with an understudy they've likely never heard of!

Can I just say how some of the above comments have had me roaring with laughter? Comedy gold.
I'm wrestling with myself about this show. I never understood popularity of the show at the time it was being aired and never met anyone who claimed to be a fan.
The musical has all the hallmarks of a cash cow and I suspect that's why only one of the original cast turned up at press night and some of the others have been distancing themselves from it (Nicholas Lyndhurst did this vocally in an interview I read) last week). I was expecting to read a bunch of shocking reviews and was surprised to discover that really wasn't the case.
The clips I've seen are toe-curling and it appears that having launched this, Paul Whitehouse's appearances in the run seem to be on diminishing returns.
The Theatre Royal Haymarket do often let the theatre out at reduced rates for short runs, so I'm wondering if that may be how this came to land in such a large theatre in the first place. A large aadvance can be burned through very fast with a west end production, so perhaps the intention was to do a smash and grab in London and then take a scaled down version out on tour?
All that said, if the tickets came down in price A LOT, I kind of want to see it with my own eyes. I'm particularly interested to see how they crowbar in 'Holding Back The Years' (this must surely be a pathos number involving Grandpa) and 'Lovely Day'or a 'Lovely, Jubbly Day perhaps....

Thanks,squidward,Monkey,DrTom,myself et al are now available for panto(oh yes we are!),weddings,barmitzvahs etc. I think your comments on OFAH are spot on.It’s a smash and grab cash-cow of a show and good luck to them! If things start to fall apart they could always do a moonlight flit (look it up, youngsters)

Enough on here complained when Heathers was in the Haymarket.
This is attracting the opposite crowd to that I imagine.
Variety is the spice of life and there are enough theatres to cater for us all.

Actually, I was expecting much worse based on the TB reviews. It was better than I expected. Still the worst show of the 50 or more I’ve seen this year, but not the worst of all time.
I admit though I was never much of an OFAH fan. There were some laughs and the second half, where they decided the show didn’t need to make sense, was much better than the first half.
Enjoyed the song parodies too, particularly the version of One from A Chorus Line.
This is selling really well. Few empty seats and obviously not a normal theatre audience. Lots of London and Essex accents. And lots of people who loved it, heard no end of praise as I was leaving. Think this will be around for a long time.
It was rather a football audience too (one that Bend It would have loved to have attracted).
The show started around 30 minutes late due to an incident in the second row Stalls. I didn’t get a good view, but a load of people were filming so I’m sure it will end up on YouTube.
Two guys were being ejected and refused to leave. I heard various theories including them fighting each other and being cheeky to the bouncers. The first group of bouncers couldn’t move them. A second group later resorted to getting physical (someone near me was insistent they weren’t allowed to do that). They got them out into the aisle, but they came back. Eventually the show started.
The crowd kept themselves amused with football chants of “Out! Out! Out!” and various heckles along the lines of “Get our you w*****”. A nice sophisticated audience who even booed some of the cast during the bows.
Credit to the cast for continuing and getting some jokes in about the incident.
The interval was a record short one, at around 10 minutes, with the 5 bells to 1 bell sounding about 30 seconds apart. So we were still out by 10:20pm.
My Dress Circle Row D for £45 had an excellent view. The show still isn’t worth £45 to me, but compared to the price of other seats, it’s a bargain. Glad to have ticked this one off the list.

Well, people who don't normally like the theatre or musicals seem to like this one. It's greatest hits and keep guessing when the memorable moments will happen. The front row has some audience interaction as well. I can't imagine tourists or people who've never seen OFAH making much sense of it all. |
