Even through that jumper you can see he's going to be a splendid successor to DJW's pecs.

I have no interest in this, but Matthew Croke is a local Sheffield bloke, and he was really good in Annie Get Your Gun. And you can't say he isn't gorgeous.

Oh dear, I'd hoped never to have to see this, being allergic to audiences full of children. However now I'm going to have to. Not because of Matthew Croke, though I'm quite happy to see him as he caugh my eye in both Funny Girl & Annie Get Your Gun, but because Nick Cavaliere is taking over Iago. He was in my beloved Zorro back in 2008-9 but I haven't managed to see him in anything else since so going to have to go & see him.

Add me to list of uninterested who suddenly wants to see it, really liked Matthew Croke in Funny Girl, Singing in the Rain (The recent one when he was Don, don't remember him well enough from when I saw him in the ensemble of it in London) and Annie Get Your Gun.

I agree, as well as being eye candy, he is very established and has been excellent in the 2 shows I have seen him in.

Is he going to keep the beard?
I don't mean Jade . . .

Does not work at all for me. He looks way to old.

I know. Really not a good fit. Maybe he will be in his performance but visually that is just bizarre.

Saw Aladdin tonight. Matthew Croke is definitely not too old. He's one of the best things in an otherwise pretty mediocre show.

Currently booking through to the 2nd December. Wouldn't be surprised if it opens up booking going into 2018. Personally not a show that I loved but it does have some stand out moments and massive appeal for families.

Yeah, the house was quite full on a week night - all three levels.

Yes it's still doing very well. My prediction is that it'll close for Frozen, 2020-ish.

Isn't it crazy that we're flirting with 2020 already?

So, was at the press launch last night.
What can I say? This seriously looks terrific.
Jade Ewen and Dean John-Wilson duetted on "A Whole New World" and the chemistry between them is already there - and rehearsals haven't even started yet.
DJW also gave us "Proud of Your Boy," dealt with an unexpected change of lighting angle without flinching and showed that he has the fullest voice out there.
Trevor Dion Nicholas wrapped it up with a personally tailored "Friend Like Me" in a "Blues" style. Different and full of something very special.
We also saw a short clip of the Broadway carpet flight - and it's unlike any magic effect I've ever seen. If it gets this cynic gasping, it must be good.
The statistics on the show are amazing - 370 costumes and 108 costume changes in a minute, for example, and they are sparing nothing for London. TDN is even bringing his whole family to live here for his run, dedication.
Hopefully they'll release video and photos later today, too, but all I can say is, those who got those early-run tickets at great prices could well be patting themselves on the back about now.
Annoyingly, no video, but a full report and studio shot publicity photos now on my blog at bit.ly/1nxyYjw if anyone is interested.

Here tonight at what seems to be press night for the new cast. Won the online lottery and ended up on the front row, happy days!
Will post full thoughts after the show but for some interval thoughts, I cannot express in words how much of an improvement on Dean John Wilson Matthew Croke is. He has a better voice, better acting and can actually pull more than one facial expression.
Jade Ewen is still meh, much preferred Lauren Chia.
Trevor Dion Nicholas is astonishingly good. He was slightly ill when I saw him last and oh boy, it's like a different person up there tonight!
Act two time...
