I sat in the 3rd row of the Upper when I went and there was no restriction, despite it being a £25 single seat. It was one og the busiest days in London for shows that day though, the week between Christmas and New Year, pretty much every show in London was sold out or near sold out. It was discounted so much because it wss a single seat and it was literally just before the show. But there was no restriction so there shouldn't be any worse for you just below.

I would like to say that I had a pretty poor seat at this show months and months ago, and I had perfect view of Dean John Wilson's abs and pecs. They are clearly visible from all angles, so never fear, punters!

When I saw the show on December 29th, I was actually a tad dissapointed, as the abs and pecs really weren't what I was expecting based on the reviews from people on here and everything. Maybe it was just a little bit of Christmas weight that got on him. He still looked slim, but there were no abs there.
Jade however, looked amazing!

I don't remember there being any particularly impressive abs either. Pecs, yes, yes please... abs, not so much. (not that I am complaining or criticising, I hasten to add!)

How awesome is this....cast member Michelle Hopewell went on as Babkak today (usually played by Nathan Amzi who has said on twitter that Michelle stepped in as he was feeling awful) as an emergency cover!!

I believe Leon Craig who covers the genie and Babkak had to go on as Genie leaving no Babkak cover, so Michelle did it! Amazing!

I saw it in December. Was very disappointed. Very rare i spend as much money on a ticket as I did however with the hype, was very disappointed. Before I am lambasted, my background is theatre in roles varying from CM / CSM / LX1. So i have done my years of touring and residency to really understand theatre from a technical and creative perspective.
Genie - Amazing. Cant say anything bad about him Jafar - Amazing. Costume changes - magnificent. Aladdin - Miscast. Maybe he was tired. However less vocal energy and acting than a recent graduate (And i know they are better) Jasmine - Ok. Nothing special. No vocal energy.
Set - Magnificent. Especially the cave. Very interested that the front line arrays were actually encased in a black gauze so it no longer looks like the messy front portal! Ingenious if you ask me! Lighting - Overlit in places. Couple of nice moments, but really nothing new or creative Sound - Abysmal. The live tracking that is being used doesn't work well. The energy from Aladdin / Jasmine also makes it hard work for the engineer to really get some energy from it. However the tracking was not working. Band - Nice band, but just playing through the motions
We actually contacted the theatre about the sound as it really wasn't good, and actually they have responded and that Aladdin themselves wish to discuss it further with us.
Im sure I will be shot for this. Im sure this show will do its 3 - 5 years, but its not got a long life in it I don't believe.

Ingenious if you ask me! I have to add - the flying carpets impressive. Ok, i already know how its done, but still to have technology and a visual experience like that in conjunction with the reveal scene was just impressive even to me. Lighting - Overlit in places. Couple of nice moments, but really nothing new or creative Sound - Abysmal. The live tracking that is being used doesn't work well. Michelle is very cute and totally one of the more fun ladies in waiting. Maybe the next Effie in Dreamgirls?

How exciting that she played the male part. I sooooo wanted Aladdin to be fabulous but it was the most disappointing show of last year. Maybe I'll get a dayseat and see it again. I doubt it will run much longer after this year. I wish they would bring Aida over. What's Disneys problem? It ran for five years on Broadwa. Newsies too - both were AMAZZZZING.

It's been sold out for every performance so far so it looks set for a very healthy run !

Well, I wouldn't say sold out - busy certainly - but there is "good availability" for several performances this week and next and seats at all prices for other performances.

I'd say it'll run another 2-3 years, I imagine if Frozen is a huge hit on Broadway, it'll transfer here by 2020.

Here is the video of Whoopi's cameo appearance as the Genie on Broadway for one night only. So funny.

Saw this last night - felt a little panto, but a fun show nonetheless. I found the two leads a little bland, the Genie is clearly the star and I liked the three friends singing 'High Adventure'. Great set and costumes though, loved the magic carpet!

As someone said I imagine a lot of families head there for lack of tickets at Harry Potter and now that Charlie's closed there isn't actually much in the west end for families. Bet there's also a strong nostalgia factor for people who grew up loving the movie (like me!)

Cast change is coming up for this, quite a big one it seems with majority of the cast leaving, overheard last night that Matthew Croke is taking over as Aladdin (I think that's what I heard anyway) which should be interesting. Saw him in Singing in The Rain, great dancer. Sorry to see the sidekicks go though as they were the one of the only saving graces for me. Might be worth a re-visit... if I can grab a cheap enough ticket.

Can't say I'm unhappy about Dean leaving.
Would be thrilled to see Nathan Amzi move over to the New London.

Hopefully Nathan Amzi will be leaving...and joining School of Rock at their cast change!
