Yes, I would agree that the different combinations of cast help - especially as pretty much everyone gets their turn at playing major roles in a movie. Each person seems to have their own style which makes it really interesting. As a cast, they are incredibly talented, with a decent number of them being surprisingly good singers, and some very decent 'serious' actors as well.
I too have enjoyed seeing new performers in this - Lauren, Mike, Niall and Josh are new performers to me (though I knew of Niall and Mike), and I've only seen Ellie in the televised PPGW - it's been really enjoyable seeing them, along with the performers I'm more familiar with.

If last night's film was coherent, tonight's film 'Suicide Squid' was the total opposite.
Supposedly a superhero film, but lacking a superhero, and much of a storyline - but utterly hilarious.
The pogo restaurant song was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, and Henry Lewis had some utterly ridiculous and hilarious moments. Niall's character was ridiculous and very funny too, and Henry Shields, who spent 95% of that film on his knees as a Gastronomic Illusion fish was highly amusing as well. I think this film had probably the most amount of cast corpsing of any film so far, and a distinct lack of awareness of time and names of characters by everyone.
Edit: Just remembered the numerous attempts at Geordie accents at the end was very funny too.

Sorry if sounding selfish (excuse the pun!), but wasn't too overjoyed when 'superhero' movie came back up as the chosen theme again for tonight's stream. However, tonight's movie was probably one of the best. Absolutely side-splitting with the absurd storyling making for consistent havoc and bizareness throughout. Brilliant. Plus, 'Suicide Squid' was one of the best titles thus far I thought.
Can't wait for the midnight stream!

Another brilliantly absurd film for the first of the double bill of MMN. The pogo restaurant musical number for me was the highlight for me. It's a shame there is no way to be able to re-watch these after they have streamed. Looking forward to the midnight show.
Also, a shoutout to the graphic designers who have been producing the film posters for this batch of MMN. The designs they have come up with have been great so far.

Now Museum, Now You Don't - a musical heist.
Like Suicide Squid, a nonsense plot, but absolutely hilarious.
The moment most of us have waited for came - Harry Kershaw got his revenge on Jonathan while he was doing his cameo, only for Jonathan to get his own back with a very evil repeated use of rewind and play, which was absolutely incredible.

Can we please have more late night MMN’s. A absolutely hilarious museum heist musical film for the midnight show. It’s great to have a bit more adult humour especially loved Henry Shield’s internet line. Loved Harry Kershaw’s revenge when Jon Sayer made a cameo, then JS got his revenge shortly after.
Two fantastic movies tonight and worth stopping up for.

Fabulous midnight show tonight. 'Now Museum Now You Don't' told the story of Tom and his team of Dan's (featuring regular Dan, Steely Dan, Tech Danielle, an ocassional appearence from Weird Dan and the re-incarnating Big Dan) carrying out a heist to steal the animal jewels that had just arrived at the Natural History Museum. Definetly felt a more 'lax' show with some more 'NSFW' jokes making their way in but really was good fun.
Excellent to see one of the awards being Oscar getting a cameo in the performance, which was a brilliant moment. Was also really nice seeing Jonathan joining in for the final number. Looked like he was having a brilliant time.

Lauren hadn't appeared in MMN until these streamed shows, though she's been a regular in Showstopper since 2016 - I've seen her in a number of them - & also appears with several other improv groups. Excellent to see one of the awards being Oscar getting a cameo in the performance, which was a brilliant moment. Was also really nice seeing Jonathan joining in for the final number. Looked like he was having a brilliant time. Now they've announced another batch of shows, I'd love it if Jonathan did one of them in the ensemble. He has done so occasionally in the past, during the 2017/18 run at the Arts Theatre I saw him in the ensemble 4 times.

The Wizard of Paddington - a Disney film
Let's be honest, the stakes of the movie weren't high - the wizard delaying trains by a few minutes is not exactly an obvious plot for a film, but Mischief made it work.
Joshua Elliott made me laugh a few times, including the best quote of the afternoon 'I missed my own birth', plus Harry Kershaw's anguish at being given a parking ticket 3 years ago. The prancing about at the start was very funny. The Accidental Accents song, which wasn't about accidental accents, was very good. Lastly, well done to Mischief for keeping it family friendly without any warnings from Oscar!

Light Over The Rocks - the story about the rise to fame of a rock band/ a Chesney Hawkes tribute film
Joshua Elliott took the lead and was brilliant - both as his main character of Gerald (or Gregory/Geoffrey according to Harry), and his other more flamboyant characters like Tambourine Tommy. The open mic night was hilarious - the Mighty Throat were hilarious, and the other bands, like Venom Snake (featuring a very camp Josh and Niall). Henry Lewis as Chesney Hawkes was great fun, as were Harry Kershaw having a conversation with himself, Ellie Morris as Conan O'Brien (among other characters), Niall Ransome as numerous characters - his reaction to being announced as Dudley McDiddles was hilarious. Bryony Corrigan miming playing the penny whistle was great.

What fantastic double bill of MMN today. A Disney inspired film this afternoon and then rock band-based film tonight with much love for Chesney Hawkes. A great weekend of MMN. These MMN films really are a joy to watch each day.

What was the Chesney Hawkes pun? I got distracted for a moment and missed it. Seconding this query. I didn't catch it properly & couldn't make sense of what I did catch. This may be because I had no idea who Chesney Hawkes is & had to look him up afterwards. And having looked him up I find he's English so am baffled as to why Henry L was playing him with an American accent!

Just leaving this here because it's something I've wanted to be able to do every time I've seen a stage improv show with someone having a conversation with themselves & finally I've been able to do it.

What was the Chesney Hawkes pun? I got distracted for a moment and missed it. It was something along the lines of "You've come to a Chesney Fork in the road."

The Quest for Escape-a-Lot
A medieval escape thriller
Very funny film, with a lot of quite evil interventions from Oscar. My favourite bits were the extended slow-mo sequence, Niall's King Tim who didn't seem to be able to form a coherent sentence, the forest of the magical stairlifts, Arthur's and Tim's different loves of sheep, and Niall dropping Mike in it and Oscar (Jonathan) forcing Mike to do a short song and dance number.

I loved the slo-mo sequence, but I think my favourite bit was Bryony’s excuse for the noise in the dungeon, closely followed by her falling off the box, then having to rewind and do it again.

I've just booked for the Double Bill tomorrow. I still think that my first time in Brighton was the best, can't beat live theatre, but so glad this has found an audience

Wild Feast - a Western zombie movie set in Edinburgh
Quite a dark movie by Mischief standards, with Dave and Ellie as the main villains. Bryony as Fergus Pickles was very amusing - her break dancing at the end was hilarious, and Harry Kershaw's character having his organs ripped out but complaining about back pain was very funny. So too, was Niall's character always finding the wrong camera for his close up. I also enjoyed Nancy and Bryony as the horses. The raps were pretty decent this evening too - not easy to do I imagine. Mike's character was very likeable and I guess a lot of people were rooting for him.
As we've seen in previous movies, a ridiculous number of twists occurred towards the end as the film descended into chaos. Everyone was cured of their zombie status by being tickled.

As we've seen in previous movies, a ridiculous number of twists occurred towards the end as the film descended into chaos. Everyone was cured of their zombie status by being tickled. That has to be the joint the joint least plausible way of getting a happy ending that I've ever seen in an MMN! The other one, in case anyone's interested, was the ending of The Neckcracker (25th January 18) where most of the characters had been killed by vampire but came back to life when nice vampire Igor read out loud from the novel he'd been writing!
I feel I should be posting more on this thread but by the time I've written far too many tweets after each show I rarely seem to get round to saying anything on here.

Looking forward today's double bill and it being a MMN 1st with the evening show being the sequel to the matinee show.
Another great show last night with the Western zombie film. Though the highlight for me was during the pre-show clips and Mike Bodie just casually walking across the green screen and then making a hasty exit. I'm just surprised this hasn't happened before now.

I remember Jonathan Sayer appearing on it previously, but it looked like that was more deliberate as he ended up 'tickling' Henry Lewis' beard (Henry was on the advert playing at the time).
