Hi, Bit of a random one. Could people please recommend one-person plays? (To read, rather than current productions) I'm thinking in the same vein as Fleabag, Grounded etc. Much appreciated  x |

My favourite one person play is Misterman by Enda Walsh. It's also one of the best plays overall that I've ever seen; dark, human, revelatory. Very funny and utterly heartbreaking .
I also absolutely adore Sea Wall by Simon Stephens. I think you can still find the short film with Andrew Scott if you'd also like to see it as well as read.
Neither is in the same vein as Fleabag though (stylistically or thematically).

Last one I saw was "Title and Deed" by Will Eno at the Print Room. Not sure how it will read but in performance it was really quite good.

I'm blanking myself right now but the National Theatre bookshop regularly run a twitter Q&A where you can ask them for recommendations, but also might be worth a scroll through their feed for inspiration as well!

I'm not a fan of one person shows generally, but I liked 'Random' by debbie tucker green - one person inhabiting many characters, themes: knife crime; death in the family.
'It's Always Right Now Until It's Later' by Daniel Kitson is absolutely wonderful - but I have a feeling it hasn't been published. There may be some bits about it or of it on youtube.

Stefan Golaszewski wrote and performed two excellent one man plays, 'Talks About A Girl He Once Loved' and 'Is A Widower.'
He did them in Edinburgh, then again at the Bush in London. I remember some playtexts were published.

Ah, this is a quirky one:
'Gardening for the unfulfilled and alienated' by Brad Birch (winner of the recent Harold Pinter playwriting bursary.) It was performed in a garden shed in Edinburgh. Entertaining.

Iphigena in Splott with Sophie Melville was very touching and superbly acted.
Tom Conti was hilarious in One Helluva Life about John Barrymore when I saw that many years ago. The drunk Richard III falling off the throne got one of the biggest laughs I've ever heard in a theatre.
