I've booked; hope it's an improvement on recent Hampstead main house fare - though I did find Occupational Hazards riveting.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it more than "An Octoroon" from the same author!

I've booked but I'm not sure about the cast. Still, I trust my US friends who recommend Branden Jacobs-Jenkins so we'll see.

'Merlin' fans should get to the Hampstead Theatre to see 'Gloria' as Colin Morgan is in it.
'Game of Thrones' fans should get to the Hampstead Theatre to see 'Gloria' as Ellie Kendrick is in it.
Fans of 'Merlin' AND 'Game of Thrones' will think they've died and gone to heaven.

I'd say I hoped some people were going for the play itself (never heard of those actors), except that's what I do and much good it has often done me at Hampstead main. Besides, the theatre won't care why people go as long as they do.

Well. Some people also like to know who is in a show before spending their money on a ticket. Horses for courses.

Oh absolutely, Ryan; I just happen to prefer not to know who I'm really watching so I can focus on the play, though I don't suppose the entire acting profession would be content to remain in obscurity simply to indulge me.

Has anybody seen this yet? Or are planning to see it soon? Would be great to hear some thoughts soon.

Seen it tonight. Very dark satire, good writing. But the less you know before the better. The whole ensemble is amazing. Set is great, but still some tiny problems with the set change. Should be ok till press night though. Highly recommended.

Good to hear, RedRose; could you give the approximate running time, please? It still isn't on the theatre website though they are supposed to have this by dress rehearsal.

Around 3 hours including interval. Not sure about exact time, because it started later and the set change took longer than it will when it's properly running.

Thank you, Redrose. Even when they're into their stride and the time reduces slightly, I'll still be glad I booked a matinee - and that I won't be out after 90 minutes, straight through, with hours to kill before the evening play.

Thank you, RedRose! Dark satire is enough to convince me. Booking my ticket - which means I'm going to spend a nice Saturday in London this July, with Colin Morgan in the afternoon and Bertie Carvel in the evening... Oh well...

Website now saying 2 h 30 including interval. Happy to see that the performance I'm attending is fully-booked in the stalls, which should create a good atmosphere - something lacking on a few of my recent visits to Hampstead main house.

If I may be permitted a shallow post for a second... can we take a moment to reflect on how damn fine wee Colin Morgan looks in the promo pictures? *fans self*
Ok back to sensible play discussion now.

Damn right!!
I've been re-watching Merlin lately and it's a lovely surprise to stumble on those and see him looking quite so ahem, grown up!!

Good to know the cast features actors unknown to me; saves recognising them and being distracted from the play. Mind you, at my age I'd probably forget most of them pretty quickly even if I had seen them before, so it comes to the same thing much of the time.

Saw this Friday and it does come in at 2:30.
The first half sets up a very interesting premises for the second half, which takes an unexpected turn, in the programme a couple of pages are sealed, the usher cuts the page for you in the interval, so not to spoil the plot (never known this before) but mums the word.
I enjoyed this.
4 Stars.

I may have to practice my "oh young man, I seem to have dropped my programme into my lap and I have my hands full with my interval drink, can you reach down for me?" routine. What am I saying? Of course I've already practised that.
