Shame to see that Jacob is leaving - finally saw him over the weekend, and he's fantastic. The first JD where I've seen flashes of Christian Slater, not enough to be mimicry, but just a touch so I see the same character.

I saw this last week and was not familiar with the musical or cast members but have just seen from Twitter that Freddie King - mentioned above - apparently stepped in at short notice to bail out another musical in Guildford last night: Quick Fantastic's production of The Bridges Of Madison County at the Electric Theatre.

Freddie is also doing Once upon a love song on 14th Feb at The Other Palace… reuniting with various cast including Aisla Davidson.

Anybody heard anything about the new cast members that are joining in about a weeks time? Just been announced! Maddison Firth is coming back to play Heather Chandler, Jacob Fowler will be full time JD until 27th March, May Tether is also returning as Drama Club Drama Queen, Andy Brady is back as Ram/Veronica’s Dad and Coach Ripper, Benjamin Karran is returning as Beleaguered Geek and Jermaine Woods is joining as Preppy Stud!

Not quite as exciting as I'd hoped for... assume May will cover Veronica, and they'll have to re-cast JD again once Jacob goes? He's done an excellent job though I'm glad he's officially getting it full time for a bit.

Thanks for the casting updates. I've seen this several times recently, including from the front row last night, as I wanted to see the perfect pairing of Jacob and Alisa again. Good to see that Jacob is around for longer, so I have a bit of time before I need to rush back.
This has been selling very well! The only reason I got a good Rush seat yesterday is because TodayTix didn't release these at the usual time (and, even then, it took a few goes to get a front row seat instead of a back row seat).
I did see Simon Gordon on tour and he was very good also, so glad that he's getting the opportunity to return to the role.
Last night, I got to sit next to someone dressed as Heather Chandler. I very rarely start conversations, but they seemed to be enjoying the show as much as me and were well received by the cast (Tom Scanlon really posed for their camera at the end - yes I was jealous!). It was a hot crowd as well, very enthusiastic with none of the rustlers and talkers that so often plague this show (compared with a previous performance with phones in the front row and another with the men behind me commenting loudly about the pain involved during the various low blows that Ram and Kurt experience).
Lots of giggles yesterday too, especially at the start of the second half. Couldn't quite work out why.
Anyway, very glad this is extending. We need a feel good musical! And I hope they're able to get the male ensemble back up to full capacity. Plus, I don't need to try and rush back this weekend to try and see Jacob again before he closes (looking out of place, but loving every moment at the front of this inclusive show).

Heathers performance 20/2/22 was honestly out of this world and a performance I will never forget! The cast and audience were on a whole other level and it was the most beautiful thing to witness. It was Emma, Kayleigh, Kieran and Ivan’s last show and they put everything in to their last performance. Standing ovations for me inside of me, dead gay son, I say no (which made Ailsa cry) and for seventeen reprise. Every one of those was deserved and I think there would of been a standing ovation for meant to be yours if the song didn’t naturally run into the next scene without stopping. This cast is out of this world and if you haven’t already seen them then why not? Ailsa is the most phenomenal Veronica an absolute powerhouse with her vocals!

I was speaking to someone on Zoom yesterday who kept using the word "myriad". I didn't find a way to ask her if she was a Heathers' fan.
Couldn't resist booking a Rush ticket to see the new cast tonight!

I’ve been using the word ‘myriad’ in my day to day conversation since 1989 (when I first saw ‘Heathers’ 🤣).

Outstanding performance yesterday from the new cast, which I got the pleasure to see from the (side of) the front row. A perfectly behaved audience too and audience participant Steve even got into the swing of things.
Alisa and Jacob are excellent together (I think, by now, that goes without saying).
We had the new leads, including Maddison Firth as Heather Chandler, Andy Brady as Ram's Dad. Then the delightful Benjamin Karran back in the cast, I do hope that I get to see his JD.
Jordan Cunningham was covering for Kurt's Dad and Big Bud Dean and did a great job.
Then, the surprise special guests.
Merryl Ansah was on as Heather Duke and Liam Doyle as Kurt Kelly. Both previously played the roles on the tour, but were announced very late in the day, so I imagine they had very little notice (and may not even had had chance to rehearse). Very fluid considering, especially considering the slightly different shape of the Other Palace stage compared to that on the tours. Some minor things out of place, but not so much the majority of audience would notice.
So, there was the dream pairing of Liam Doyle and Tom Scanlon on the stage in their underwear together, at the same time, which I doubt any of us ever expected to see.
Anyway, a fantastic cast. No pictures or video to share, as I was about the only person on the front row whose phone was still in their pocket, but I'm sure there are lots on social media.
I do, of course, hope that everyone who was off recovers quickly, but who knows what interesting combinations of the current and previous casts will be performing tonight?

Mary-Jean as Martha Benjamin as JD Ivan returning as Ram And Liam returning as Kurt This run of heathers really is true chaos but you have to give your hats off to ever cast members and backstage crew! They all must exhausted and someone give them all a raise for their work. Hannah now having to cut shows left right and centre by herself! Seems once you sign a heathers contract you never really leave the show 😂 Two questions, do we think heathers need to have swings for future productions? And will this run at TOP ever have a full cast again?

Two questions, do we think heathers need to have swings for future productions? And will this run at TOP ever have a full cast again? Well, it is the kind of news that had me looking for a ticket for 5pm, but £70 is just too much for me (if anyone reading this has any other ideas, do let me know). No, I think the current level of cover is as much as we'll see, especially when there are so many available actors in London who know the roles and are available at short notice. I don't envy the cast though, even if it keeps things interesting. We haven't had yet seen the "class of 2022" on stage together, have we?

I get what you mean with the news being exciting and wanting to get tickets if, I was able to make it into London today I would of bought rush tickets this morning to go. I can see both sides, having swings I think would offer some stability to the show and avoid having to make all these crazy cuts and possibly keep the cast from burning out physically and mentally so much. But as you said this sort of thing brining people back keeps it exciting and people interested and talking about the show. As of yet the 2022 cast has not been full. Was exciting for cast change as I thought we where finally going to have a complete cast since having a geek back, but then we had Inez, Eliza and George off sick at the start of the week.

I nearly managed to get the full class of 2022 at the Saturday matinee, but Hannah Lowther was on Heather McNamara. She was very good.
A record number of people dressed in costumes and a full house, although they were much quieter than normal.
They managed to find a Steve in the audience with a female friend (as opposed to going for a Steve less obviously interested in women, as so often happens).
A fun afternoon in the front row as always. I expect they'll be announcing an extended booking period before too long. I'll have to try again to see if I can get the full cast experience.
