I take nothing on Tattle remotely seriously but has anyone seen the Carrie Hope Fletcher thread where a user claims to have screenshots of Christina Bennington calling the previous Heathers leads "atrocious"...I can't belive that's real, an up-and-comer like Christina with a huge career ahead of her wouldn't be that unprofessional surely. That website is genuinely horrific. Considering how much these people claim to hate Carrie they continue to follow and comment on every single thing that she does. I would take a lot of things said on there with a grain of salt.

I'm pretty shocked the forum is legally allowed to operate with the things users print about people. The Harry & Meghan threads are some of the scariest, most deranged postings I've ever read in 20+ years online, and I don't even like them but those posters are terrifying.
I'm not a fan of CHF as I've heard one too many stories of diva/spoiled behaviour from her but nobody deserves the sort of stuff written on Tattle.
I always feel like I've seen it all and nothing can surprise me these days but then somewhere like that appears. I thought Twitter was bad!

Tattle is full of hate. A user also posted a supposed screenshot of a conversation between her and Carrie Hope Fletcher where Carrie also was slagging people off. Both screenshots of that and Christina B are so blatantly fake. This person is pretending to be an Industry professional heavily hinting to be a fellow cast member of Carrie at Heathers who I won’t name here. It’s such an obvious troll. They’ve been called out a couple of times as fake but it is both hilarious but also terrifying these people are sucking it up as truth tattle folk don’t let the truth stand in their way when the pitchforks are out. They’re so blindly lead by hate they want to believe they wrote that stuff however ludicrous the content. Hope both Carrie and Christina realise that no one who actually matters believes it. I don’t know how Tattle stand legally but the Heathers actress this person is pretending to be should probably get in touch with them. Hoping Anon Moose deletes her posts before it gets out of hand. These posts hang around on the internet forever and it’s damaging to reputations and mental health.

Can we not mention by name specific users from other forums please. Also, commenting here about threads on other forums will undoubtedly encourage some TheatreBoard readers to seek them out so please consider whether you really want to do that. Thank you.

Meanwhile, can someone tell us how the show is?!!...Cast, performances etc Contemplating booking this as i have heard good things but want some feedback. Hello! Went to see the show this week. I had seen the previous west end cast on the last run a couple of times. Some casting choices felt spot on - Kurt and Ram’s dads were great and dead gay son was a surprising highlight as it isn’t my favourite! Jodie Steele was awesome as expected! The new Heather Duke, better casting choice in terms of age and was quite good in terms of choreography and acting, but not able to get all the notes on Never Shut Up Again compared with T’Shan Williams in previous run. Rest of cast all good. I liked Jordan Luke Cage’s JD but missed Jamie Muscato’s slightly higher intensity- I believed Muscato’s JD was a psychopath but Jordan seemed a little too nice? Main bugbear was staging between Christina Bennington’s Veronica and JD. both great singers but lacked a bit of chemistry? Of the west end veronicas I’d say Olivia Moore was the best i have seen, but thought Christina aced her vocals. New Martha has an amazing voice!! Her song was a highlight. All in all it’s a good show … and it still makes you leave with a smile on your face. Fist pumps at the end and all of the good stuff and when they can have more people in the theatre there will be more energy.

Just at the interval and this has come on leaps and bounds. It seemed a little slow at first, but this new cast look (mostly) a lot more age appropriate. Christina B is just giddy as Veronica (like a schoolgirl would be) and I’m hoping for more smouldering from JLG as he is a believable, sturdier JD. The colours are brighter and the whole thing a lot closer to the movie than I remember on the last run. The theatre looks empty but is allegedly sold out. Andy Fickman is still in the house gauging audience reaction and chatting away to all.

TodayTix cancelled my booking for the 6th even though it was sold as socially distanced.
"We have been informed that as a result of the delay on the easing of restrictions in England, Heathers at the Royal Haymarket Theatre has cancelled performances from 5th-18th July 2021.
Unfortunately, your booking has been cancelled due to this delay."
However, they're still on sale on the website. Does anyone know what's going on?

DanB would love to hear what you thought of Act2 😇 Particularly because meant to be yours is my fave song in Heathers… and was a bit of a deal breaker in how i felt about JLG

The Martha/Veronica dynamic needed work. I’m not sure if a scene has been sacrificed there as it felt like they were barely together…but otherwise really strong. Here’s hoping that the tour is as good.

Really would love a new cast album for this version of the show. It sounds amazing.

Saw the show last Saturday matinee, and have spent the week mulling over my thoughts and trying to reconcile them with the raves on social media.
At the time, in 2018, I hated the on-cue screaming and cheering, but my god does the show need it! I don’t know if it was the whole theatre or just the Royal Circle but the atmosphere was extremely lacking and this may have coloured my opinion of the performances on stage.
Christina Bennington has given her Veronica more characterisation than previously seen but some of her timing was off (it felt like she was rushing through her lines sometimes) and her vocals weren’t as strong as l would like. Jordan Luke Gage didn’t feel dangerous enough for me but he sang well, if only a bit too polished a vocal for my preference of the role. On the whole, the cast are fine and do give good performances, but for me there were no stand-outs; no-one that was superior to their original cast counterpart.
Also, as someone who knows the original book practically by heart, I’m not sure how I feel about the multiple line changes.
Having been a big fan of the show since it’s Off-Broadway run, I’m disappointed that I don’t love this incarnation. I’m sure I’ll see it again during its run and hopefully I’ll feel differently on a second viewing, and I also want to see the tour at some point to see how that holds up.

Very much enjoyed this tonight. A lively and loud (mostly female) audience. They haven't moved any seats, so they only use every alternate row. An interesting one-way system around the theatre (which gets complicated if you want the bar or loo), which I'm sure the ushers must be fed up of explaining to everyone arriving.
Very different portrayals from the two leads to the previous run. Christina Bennington comes across as vulnerable. Jordan Luke Gage looks pretty and sings perfectly. He is almost too nice, but I think that's what makes this approach works.
It is an excellent cast all around. Lots of energy. I don't want to single anyone out.
You also get to see lots of Ross Harmon and Joaquin Pedro Valdes in their Y-Fronts. Both are perfect jocks.
I'll hopefully see this again before the end of the run, although I have got tickets for the tour this year too, so it's not one to see too often. It's dark, but with decent music. A good following. I don't know how full it will get when social distancing is removed though.

Knowing and loving the movie, I have avoided this since the beginning, I finally saw it last night. Loved Christina. Had only seen her in Bat before and she was perfect as Veronica. Her and Jordan have such a great chemistry! Unexpectedly really enjoyed the show!
