I don’t have as much against Carrie as some but she really isn’t right for this part I’m sure the show’s writers/casting directors know what they want from a women playing Veronica, so they must have reasons for choosing her. Obviously, if she wasn’t right for the role then she’d wouldn’t have been cast!

They’ve announced her alongside announcing the show, they know exactly what they’re doing.

Veronica's high note is an Ab5 I didn't even realise Carrie could belt that high, especially when she struggled with the G5 in Addams. I do believe they have casted her for the name, because a better role for her range would be Heather C or Heather D, but neither of those characters are the lead.
They announced her along side the show, so it is just a publicity stunt. If they do Tuesday Matinees however I suppose I'll go when Im free in London.
Edit - Wednesdays high note was actually only an E5. The girl cannot belt two notes and a half step higher when she struggled with the E.

She literally busted her voice doing Wednesday Addams and Veronica is way higher. She cracked all the time doing that so I don’t know how she’ll cope with this unless she gets some serious vocal training.

The replies to Baz's tweet are a hoot.
OMG!!
I'M DYING!
I'M SELLING A LUNG TO GO!
etc. etc.
Whatever you think of her, she has a big fan base and she sells tickets.

I don’t know what it is about Carrie, buf I find that the “fame” is kind of getting to her head and she perhaps thinks she’s more successful than she actually is.
I have nothing against her, but she just comes across as quite arrogant and snobbish.

As a person of similar age to those replying in all caps I sincerely apologise for the absolute shambles that is teenage girls on twitter when it comes to Heathers

Just seen on twitter that they've wrote new songs for the show, so what is the betting that they may have also lowered it a key or two so she can belt it.

Buzzing to see a full production of this show, and really pleased for the exposure this will give The Other Palace, but looooord the fans. Can't deal with all the caps lock...

Don’t get me wrong I do think she has a nice voice and a nice belt but her acting needs work and I don’t think she can reach that high, if they cut the high notes for her they’ll lose so much of the shows value

I thought it might happen, as I figured they wouldn’t want to wait too long to get a production on, but I’m devastated that the timing of the run means Charlotte Wakefield is unable to return as Veronica - she was absolutely brilliant in the workshop

Goodness, how depressing. That woman has done about as much for artistic integrity as Subway has for fine-dining.

One thing I do give Carrie credit for, I'm glad she hasn't just ditched her theatre routes now that she has even bigger YouTube success, best selling books, music etc. She could of gone down the route of never doing theatre again so it's nice to see her stick to theatre, despite mixed feeling toward her.

Any predictions on the rest of the cast. Or will it mostly be a reprise of the workshop cast, minus Charlotte Wakefield and Amy Ross (unavailable due to Wicked tour)

Something tells me there’s a new Duke then, I can’t imagine them clearly using a black/mixed race illustration and casting her, would cause uproar

I feel like Heathers is one of those “legacy” shows which everyone raves about when they first come out. Others being Wicked, Hamilton, Waitess and Dear Evan Hansen. This will definitely sell out because of Fletcher’s name being above the door. I can just imagine the stage door situation being a nightmare when this opens.

There is no “stage door” at The Other Palace but in my one experience there (Rent) the cast all just leave through the foyer/bar anyway so everyone can approach them for a chat/photos. Carrie’s going to have a bit of trouble on her hands! 😂😂

There are ushers on every door with a signed photo of Carrie”

I've been there five or six times now, and to confirm yes, no stage door, jusy entry through the bar/foyer. And no special fire exits or treatment for the stars, Kelsey Grammer entered and exited through there, so Carrie won't hve any special treatment. The trouble here is those fangirls will for sure be blocking the main entrance to the venue, which is also a resturant and bar so that will no doubt cause issues.
